  1. Mmmm, there is something up the creek with your business processes and priorities, if those logs were purchased, left there to rot and then put on the burn pile. Not as much of a problem, if freebees.

  2. Nathan, why do you only run the flail mower when you are going forward instead of running it both backwards and forward which seems would be more efficient. Just asking because I was curious. Love your videos. Bill H

  3. South Africans are paying roughly $1.5 per liter for diesel. Not sure about agricultural diesel prices

  4. Anyone know why Nathan released so many videos in one day? Definitely not complaining, I love it!

  5. A good set of safety glasses would go a long way during the log sawing adventures in clean up. I would hate to see you injure yourself unnecessarily. But I saw the "Country goggles" (i.e. squinting) you had going on there. Be safe Nathan.

  6. I need to do the same thing. Wouldn't bother me so much if it was pine. I let several Cypress logs go to far. Fine line between spalt and rot.

  7. Heard that the prices are coming down, they want to make money off the christmas sales, so for a month the prices may come down a bit…then go right back up again, because these companies can.

  8. I know that diesel is high, But have you thought of all the truck drivers out there that are paying more per gallon? It needs to go down for sure. $4.99 per gallon at stations here in Mobile, Al.

  9. hey Nathan, new to your channel. Tried to watch your series on building your kiln- 2nd video the audio cut off and never came back (clicked it fwd a few times to the end 🙁 I do want to ask this however, 5 yrs ago in the kiln 1 video you stated your business model was to cut then saw up your own logs not buy from log yard, what changed and why?- Tyler

  10. How do you like those TYM tractors? Looking at the 574, not sure about them? Kubota is mostly around here.

  11. The cheapest off road diesel in my town is $4.79/gal. at the pump but if you buy it in bulk, I don't know how many gallons is considered bulk; you get a $0.06 discount I think. Probably got to buy 500 gallons to get the discount. I live in Rowan county, NC which is northeast of Charlotte by around 45 miles and two counties. Regular gasoline is $3.19/gal. Diesel used to be much cheaper than gasoline and I don't understand why it cost so much more now. The amount it was cheaper is now the amount it is higher than gasoline. Doesn't make sense.

  12. Mama cat is waiting for you to scare up a rodent so she can catch it. Mine do the same thing. Sometimes they will hang out with the dear hoping for the same.

  13. Seriously wasteful with not using logs for firewood. Should at least donate to needy folks that need heat…

  14. Consider the plight of some of the grain farmers running class 8 and 9 combines with fuel tanks ranging up to 250 gallons. They’re going thru 15 to 20+ gallons of diesel per hour! When some have fuel delivered, they just empty the whole tanker.

  15. Not a criticism! Honestly interested in the need, or economic efficiency, of having three tractors! Or is my count off? Other then having to change out the implements, is there a benefit to having more than one tractor? Thanks! Love the videos!!

  16. Got #2 road fuel in Yankton South Dakota today for $3.82 on a fuel app. Saw some as low as $4.05 at the pump road fuel. Not sure how long it will last though.

  17. Hey Nathan, really enjoy your channel. You seem like a genuinely nice and good guy. I have to ask though, and I know you get this question a lot so sorry for asking it again, but isn't there something better you could do with the scrap wood than just burn it on a pile? Like mulch, chips for OSB, dust for stove pellets or even just burned with a purpose on your property in a wood stove to heat the mill shed, kiln or even the chicken house. I just hate to see such a precious resource just go up in smoke with no purpose. Even if it is rotted.

  18. You might as well just record for the Scots. This sponsor completely takes away anything from these videos of yours. I'm sorry to bitch, but I didn't subscribe to buy land or have someone plant trees or whatever the hell they do. This will be my last video I'm sorry to say. Good luck in the future.

  19. Hey Nathan just a warning about your sponcer, can you check them out … A few channels i whatch are having a bad time with this sponcer i here there fram China so mabey a scam , just saying……Thank you..

  20. Where do you get your blades?
    😂
I assume Joe sells blades for Woodland Mills as well? I’m about to get my setup going and will need some.

  21. Glad to see the saw mill and other things you do thanks for you channel in put. I hope you can find a way to use your waste rather than burn it. however keeping waste burned up is better than letting in pile up. Joel

  22. Really enjoy sharing you life and admire your skill and judgment. Can’t understand the negativity folks give you we are all entitled to the spot we stand on. You are refreshing when you give it back in kind .
One question for you. Is the roof of the mill shed inside covered with saw dust or is that a coating of some kind.?

  23. I can understand why you wouldn't put those logs on the mill. They just wouldn't return any money vs the time and effort. But my old German heart just cringes whenever you "dispose" of lumber like that.
So, what does it cost for you to mill a log? Or what does it cost just to fire up the mill?
Oh, and yes cleaning up a corner like that will give you a good feeling. Good for you!

  24. Its a crying shame those logs end up in the burn pile, but what else can you do with them? By the way, suggestions are very much welcomed!
