We were homesteading near Lexington Ky, but not being able to grow for 5 months wasn’t efficient and also really boring being indoors for that long. So we picked a place with a better growing zone, still a beautiful fall, but no hurricanes. We moved to Georgia not far from the FL border. We still use row covers when needed in the winter, but what a difference it’s made. I garden all year now! It’s awesome. Also the beach is only half a days drive. It’s done so much for our families mental health being outside in the winter. Still chilly but not miserably cold and grey.
