Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland, Australia, about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online, so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

turned out my ex wife was a diakon too
Radish pods are edible too
Daikon is so good. I use to like regular radishes growing up, but then I had daikon, and now I have no interest in regular radishes. Daikons are also soo much easier to prep for eating/cooking than regulars. I really like daikon.
I love Daikon
大根 大好き〜❤️
How do you prepare it ?
corny daddy
Well that was unexpected
He should try growing jicama!
look out when you pickle them in a jar, they reek like poo, smells like a fart lol.
Daikon, to die for❤
Daikon is my favorite radish
I grew a daikon this year and it was 11 pounds
yummm
i have never had a woody radish!?
A great way to cook it is with garlic, ginger, salt n pepper to taste , tumeric and boil in coconut milk..yummy
A few tips from a daikon grower:
When you thin out the seedlings , wash them off and eat them – they taste good
For large, good tasting roots harvest them after the leaves darken but before the stem stretches out
the young seed pods are also edible and taste like a mix of peas and radish
Come on now don't be rash.
Love your channel
Can I grow this in Ireland? Does our weather support this?😊
Mild flavor? Mine always have an intense flavor and burns my nostrils when I exhale. I love them!
