Container Garden Update. Planting a Patio Container Garden. Bell Peppers and Herb Garden. We planted several bell peppers and a bunch of herbs on Memorial Day weekend in a container garden on our deck patio. They are still going strong as we enter fall. The pepper plants are huge and have produced all summer. They still have at least 40 to 50 peppers on them. The herb garden is also growing like crazy. We planted thyme and parsley. Planting a container garden is easy and gives you a nice crop all summer long.
