Arashiyama has a LOT more than a bamboo grove [Japan 2022]



So many firsts in this vlog! First bamboo grove, Japanese gardens, matcha tea, boxed lunches! We start SUPER early because we heard the Arashiyama bamboo grove gets really crowded, but maybe we arrived TOO early.

We also visit the town of Arashiyama itself, enjoy views from the bridge, and eat some delicious lunch before heading to Sogochi Garden, which is beautiful! From there, we take a little talked about entrance that drops us into maybe the most famous section of the bamboo grove. After that, we visit the Okochi Sanso Villa and Gardens – which again are beautiful! While there, we try matcha tea for the first time (it’s included in the cost of admission!). After the tea, we take the Sagano Romantic train, which follows a river through a valley and the scenery is stunning!

    たぶん「落雁（rakugan）」かな？
    もち米の粉をはじめとする穀粉（こくふん）と砂糖、水飴で作られた和菓子です。

    もし餡子（sweet bean）が好きならば、上生菓子（jounamagasi）も美味しいですよ。お茶や抹茶とよく合います🍵

    Matcha is good for health!! I recommend that you drink matcha.　I drink 1liter of home made matcha every day. So I don't get sick. I'm healthy and I have plenty of time . But I have no money🤣🤣

    You should also try matcha ice cream or latte! There's a good dessert chain called Nana's Green Tea where you could get it and other stuff. It's a lot of caffeine tho. Also if you happen to encounter it in Kyoto, you should try the baked sweet potatoes. People usually sell them on the street or you'll hear a cart shouting "yaaaakimoooo"
