Japanese Garden

Morning Moments of Inspiration in Our Small Japanese Garden | Sony a7s3 | 福井

I realized the power of our family’s small Japanese home garden in Fukui. Each morning I get to look our over the veranda and start the day fresh and inspired. Connecting with nature throughout the day really centers you. This is done through a Japanese garden or Shizen Style garden if you have the opportunity to view it from a prominent spot in your house like your living room and kitchen…

  1. Thanks Josh, you certainly aren't missing anything in Buffalo. I'm in London Ont. not far from you and every day the garden can give back it's beauty at each moment. I hear what your saying. 🌳🌲

  2. That’s a beautiful space! It has a nice balance between having botanical diversity and interest like with the irises at the base of those boulders and also not being over cluttered. Is it possible that I’ve seen it on Pinterest or something?
I like to use tropical plants as focal points in the summertime (I am in Buffalo too) and have it be more Japanese inspired during the winter, making use of the open space from plants which are dormant, but a good mix of evergreens. Always a work in progress!
