Full step by step tutorial. Learn how to do a knitted cast on, purl & knit stitches, decrease and cast off while you knit up this fun pair of booty slippers in the size of your choice. Great for gifts and the whole family.
Here’s the full pattern
EASY KNITTED BOOTY SLIPPERS WITH FOLD DOWN CUFF
FOR TODDLER, CHILDREN, LADY & MEN
ABBREVIATIONS:
Toddler (T) Children (C) Lady (L) Men (M)
in = inches ft = feet yd = yard cm = centimetres m = metre
Sts = stitches. P = purl K = knit *…..* repeat pattern in the asterisk
Approximate gauge: 5 Sts = 2 in (5cm) 4 rows = 1 in (2.5cm)
Approximate time to knit a pair of ladies slippers is 3-4 hours
SUPPLIES:
-Bernat Softee chunky (super bulky 6 weight) 3.5 oz/100g 108yds/99m
1 ball needed for toddlers and children’s and 2 balls needed for women’s and mens.
-US 10, 6m, UK 4 needles. ( I use smaller needles than yarn specifications to make a firmer slipper.)
-large eye dull end darning needle
-sewing scissors to cut yarn
-tape measure or knitting gauge
-yarn marker or bobby pin
INSTRUCTIONS:
Leave a 2 ft(60cm) end and cast on T 35, C 41, L 45, M 49 sts.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: P1, *K1, P1*, repeat from * across row.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until work measures T 3 in, C 3.5 in, L 4.5 in, M 5 in. (T 7.6cm, C 9cm, L 11.5cm, M 13 cm)
End on a row 2
Next row: cast off 10 sts. Knit to end of row.
Next row: add stitch marker on st #11. Cast off 10 sts. again. Continue with K1,P1 to end of row.
Continue with Row 1 & Row 2 on the remaining T 15, C 21, L 25, M 29 sts. until work measures T 4 in, C 5 in,
L 6 in, M 7 in. (T 10cm, C 13cm, L 15.2cm, M 17.8cm)
End on a row 2.
TOE:
Row 1: K1, *P1,K1* . Repeat from * across row.
Row 2: P1, *K1,P1*. Repeat from * across row.
Repeat these 2 rows T – 1 more time, C – 2 more times, L – 3 more times, M – 4 more times.
For a total of T 4 rows, C 6 rows, L 8 rows, M 10 rows
Leave a tail of 24 in (60cm) and cut off yarn.
FINISHING:
With darning needle thread your yarn through all the stitches that are on the needle and remove the stitches from the needle.
Place darning needle in first stitch again and cinch up tight and close up hole.
Working on wrong side, continue to sew up toe and instep. Sew up back seam. Turn right side out.
Turn over the top to form the cuff or leave up for booty style.
Knit another one for your pair of slippers.
