Build Show Build: Boston Ep. 3 “Project Design Part 2”

On the second part of this episode, Steve covers the schematic design, and design development. Steve will show you the initial renderings he creates to show how different details will shape the conversation to finding the design details that really connect with the homeowner. This episode also features an extremely important topic, integration vs application. When concepts are integrated into the design, you end up with a much better and less expensive project than when they are applied after the fact. A house can look beautiful, but if it doesn’t perform as well as it looks, then what’s the point?

  1. Are all these going to be on the main channel? Really glad to see this, I thought we'd only be getting a preview of the start of a season.

  2. Love the series. Hope to find an architect like you in a few years when we're ready to start our project.

  3. Must be a young client, otherwise, I would ask for some sort of mechanical lift to the basement utility room to haul stuff up and down.

  4. Eventual goal is to have a similarly sized plan, mountainside Colorado, motor court with separate in-law quarters across main house. The slightly unreasonable goal is an indoor pool in basement with full glass with mount in views so we can swim all year round. Looking for great architects in evergreen Colorado area.
