  1. As a vegan, its sometimes just so hard to listen to you guys trash takes on eating animals 😂 love the hypocrisy ❤️ still love you guys tho 😂❤️

  2. Parenting: Try not to take anything they say or do personally. If they are lacking, it is because you have not effectively taught them otherwise. Parenting is controlled chaos.

  3. Japan reality tv definitely hits different no doubt and it's kinda crazy talked about the scam of established titles well Connor did and then talked so long about scams in general without realizing it but as Mudan put in the vid this was recorded before the controversy lul

  4. It's so funny to me when I see everyone laughing at Whatsapp, when here in Brazil literally everyone uses it, there's not a single person or company that doesn't use it. So normal on my day to day life that I forget this isn't a thing everywhere!

  5. I feel like calling the cops on a 6 YO is just a sign of the expected higher standards of Japan, and one of the lowest crime rate places in the world

  6. There's actually a really good video on the whole Become a lord of Scotland adverts by LeagleEagle if anyone's interested.

  7. I think if anyone finds themselves being offered a meat you KNOW is cruelly obtained (and don’t feel comfy eating) is better to refuse to it.. maybe that would discourage them from offering it to more people??
Idk, i feel like by eating we are promoting is consumption :/

  8. bruh calling the police on ur own kid for shoplifting is taking shit way too far. Idk how Japan is with juvenile records etc… but like that shit could potentially fuck shit up for them elsewhere (at school etc). Also given Japan's track record with dealing with neuropsychological conditions (mental health + things like adhd autism etc) , I wouldn't put it past them to completely ignore that if it was an issue.

Plenty of evidence shows that negative enforcement does more harm than good. Im not saying he should get off scot free, cut his allowance for a while, make him do extra chores or something, and of course apologise to the shop owner. More importantly however, instead of just trying to scare the shit out of him actually do your job as a parent and try to understand why they might do something like that in the first place.

  9. My Dad almost fell for a scam until i finally convinced him of the giant red flag…

So he is a small business owner and out of nowhere he got a message from a person who he hasnt spoken to in years saying there was a grant that he was eligible for which was weird in itself but here is the huge red flag…So a flight from where i live to New Zealand is around 11 hours, but apparently this lady who flies around the world could get to our front door within 2 hours from NZ and i had to explain this to my Dad over and over saying it is literally impossible for this lady to appear in 2 hours. Luckily he realised but it's scary because if people are desperate enough they will fall for it. And the ironic part is my Dad is the first person to call anything a scam, like if the shipping for something you buy online is anything above $10 he will genuinely question it being a scam.

  10. The lecturing thing really works, all three of my older brothers have served time, my Dad used to hit em, yell at em, and give ‘em extra chores when they fucked up. By the time me and my little brother came around he was too tired and just resorted to lecturing our ears off, but neither me nor my little brother have ever been in trouble with the law or really anything else.

  11. People get upset over horses because they are culturally considered partners. People worked with horses every day for hundreds of years. Creating tight bonds with them.
Much like cats and dogs, they became more than "just another animal".

There are many historical examples in Europe of people going through rough times but still refusing to butcher their horses for food.

  12. Taking your own kid to the police not only feels a bit excessive, but this is also very bad parenting in my opinion.

Imagine you are still a kid and that happens to you, I am sure this is going to be very damaging to your relationship with your parents. Your parents are supposed to be the ones you trust the most when you are young, and even they will not have your back. As Connor said, the parents are not doing their own job, but this is more than just about teaching the kid the rights and wrongs, this is a form of abandonment from the kid's perspective.

Some might think that the kid is already 15 and therefore shouldn't be provided too much sympathy, however, if this is how the parents react, it's likely how they had been using this approach to parenting for some time already (and their kid is still stealing at 15)

On top of the damage to the family's relationship, the kid is likely to develop attachment issues, become more rebellious, or even lose trust in society. Not wanting to be dramatic but imagine no one had ever been on your side while you grow up, even the comments on this issue are appreciating your parents for being brave to turn you up, this is completely possible.

This is exactly portraying the Japanese value. The reason why most of us find it odd is that we have different perspectives, instead of focusing on the kid or the police, the parents put society first. And the reason why the Japanese are commending these parents' actions is that they think that they are brave to "fulfill the protocol" or turn in an offender even though that's their children. (which in my opinion is the root of most social problems in Japan.)

PS: Agree with Garnt's approach, where the parents manage to establish their authority, teaching the kid the rights and wrongs.

  13. There is no humane slaughter, we don't need to eat meat for nutrients so killing animal for food is unnecessary. There is an easy way to live healthy, care for the animals and help to stop the climate crisis with the right food as main calories, starch

  14. Recently I've started spamming twitter spam accounts with insanely cursed deep fried memes

  15. one of the recent scams me and my parents have got in the uk recently was a machine voice: 'HMS customs and immigration has found a problem with 'XYZ' (ranges from visa/passport being expired to illegal contraband in a parcel) and if you don't continue to hold, the police will be alerted to your address' and it is so aggressive, i never continued to hold but i can see how that would scare some people, especially OAP's i could see them getting

    *grammer

  16. As a parent I would have lost my shit if someone called the cops on my 6 year old for an eraser. There are so many better ways to leave a lasting impression without being a twat.

  17. as a parent of a 7yo…. i am still learning…. she sometimes parents me…x.x ….I think we come to bargaining now days….
