2022 GARDEN Nursery Tour – Calloway's || Plant Nursery Tour || Garden Center Tour 2022 || Zone 8a

This winter season, I am making myself get out and tour the local garden nurseries. I’ve always thought there was NOTHING happening at the nurseries in the winter and I am pleased to say how wrong I was!

  1. Your selections are luscious! Hoping that Cornelius in Houston has the same plants!! Can't wait to see where you place your new beauties, Amanda❣️

  2. Loved seeing the variety of plants they had thank you 😊 fyi but I’m sure u know this hyacinth and tulip bulbs are poisonous to dogs and cats

  3. What a great selection that nursery has, especially this time if year! How did Calloway's fare during the Texas arctic blast?
    Last year I planted two containers with the peppermint stick tulips. I went to Florida to look after my baby granddaughter. While I was gone, the nasty squirrels ate every single stinking tulip bulb. Every one! I was so aggravated! Hopefully you won't have that problem.

  4. Enjoyed the walk thru! I’ve never heard of a frosty fern but I like the look of it. The dianthus was labeled as an annual but they come back? I tried them once and they didn’t. Love how they look but I try to stick with perennials. I read a report today that was predicting a worse winter than 2021. Please no!! Thanks for the video!

  5. I'm envious because we don't have a local garden center with those kinds of selections. A couple of suggestions: instead of lobelia, you might try 'Georgia Blue' Speedwell/Veronica. It is a hardy evergreen ground cover and is the earliest blooming plant in my garden, covered with tiny bright blue flowers in February. It does spread, but not aggressively. Also, my local Walmart had Gaultheria this year, which is also a hardy evergreen with bright red berries this time of year. I haven't bought any lemon cypress this year because they don't last but for a couple of seasons–they really don't like our hot humid summers.

  6. I so miss my trips to Calloways when my friends used to live up there. I wish we had something like that here in Waco. Thank you for the wonderful tour. ❤ Have a blessed holiday season.
