The big gardening myth about legumes and nitrogen fixing relates completely with the adage ,”You cannot have the cake and eat it too”.
The legumes cannot be allowed to set seed. They have to be treated as sacrificial plants and destroyed before they set seed it we want any nitrogen fixing in the soil.
