My friend would always roast her chicken on a rack over her potatoes and other veggies. That way the juices and fats from the chicken would drip onto the veggies. Soooooo good.
You can also use the onion peels to color eggs for Easter.
That's like when I oven bake bacon, my clothes, my hair, the house smells like bacon. So glad you are able to make all that food before the baby gets there.
Becky, I can't believe you didn't check the cavity of the birds. As a gal who raises her own meat birds….many people leave things inside of the bird that should not be in there. Ex: Lungs or windpipe. Always rinse out your birds cavities and clean out any unwanteds.
When using your pressure canner be sure to follow your booklet on how much water goes in the canner.

Hi Becky! Love the video. Just a word of advice you need to get some rugs down on the floor everywhere in the kitchen and dining area because the echo in this video is really bad and makes it hard to understand clearly what your saying at times.
Why would you double cook your chicken? Raw pack is the best way to can meat.

sometimes I take the chicken drippings n put in big bowl or gal jar n put in fridge to get the schmultz off then make my broth n save schmultz. nit always but sometimes
I also will do broth in my instapot 4hrs n reset fir another 4 hrs. I do for us n for dogs
My mom introduced me into canning, I don’t have my own equipment yet tho. She cooked venison stew and it was super delicious! She also did cowboy candy and beans and stuff!
