“Unique” Pineapple Guava / Feijoa Fruit Harvest After The Freeze – December 2022

A December update and harvest of my first Pineapple Guava (Feijoa) variety ‘Unique’. Will the fruit be edible after the almost 2 weeks of hard frosts we had?

  1. Half way through your video I was worried you weren't going to try it. Glad you did.

Congratulations on the fruit . That's more than I have achieved. You should feel really encouraged because that fruit looked very promising. Certainly can see why the variety is called 'Unique'.

Once your different plants get better established and flower together you will get some cross-pollination action going. 🌱 🐝

  2. Shame the extreme cold was too much for it, wouldn't have been affected by a light frost probably. Probably harmless to eat soft after defrosting, just made it watery and bland unfortunately. That long cigar shape looks like a gemini. But I'm not too convinced about the reliability of labelling in this country as the varieties are near impossible to identify accurately 😂😂
