react to best steam trains!
Some go pretty far with decorations just around me. From tacky inflatables on the lawn to show stopping lighting that really is spectacular.
Locally in East Texas we have a place called Carmella's magical Santa Land with millions of lights on about 15 acres… Carmella started it in her own yard and if finally got so big they had to move it to a dedicated space!!! It is a drive through experience with its own radio station during the Christmas season! And it is completely free they just ask for donations from anyone who can give!!
1) At 7:05, "for most of the year the Shiodome Caretta in Tokyo is a shopping center like any other." It's 47 storeys tall! I've never been to one with more than 5 storeys. Most people don't live near a building 47 storeys tall.
2) In one of the outer suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, there is an annual festival of Christmas lights at "The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette." It's a curious mix of the Catholic faith and a Las-Vegas-style spectacle of 300,000 lights illuminating 10 acres.
The lights I Japan blew my mind!
I really expected this to be more residential than commercial. It's nice to see and all, but some "regular" people just go bananas with this stuff.
I love that this was all over the world not just USA! I’m from Baltimore n we always drive down that street! I’m in my 60’s n it’s still there. UR right it’s just “the average” homeowner but the whole neighborhood takes part! 🎉 love UR channel! Always fresh n upbeat! Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays! I don't know if you realize this, but your video ends at # 5, when they mention the wooden rollercoaster.
What's with the abrupt ending?
I still want to find a black Santa decoration. Im not dreaming of a white Christmas
Check out FIRE TRUCK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
It’s the worst, being the neighbor, late for work, not being able to get by the spectators.
GLITCHES- As the video end kept changing, this could be a memory issue with my iPad. Though the iPad is only about a week old and not half of the memory is in use, the video abruptly stopped at #5 each time. Is that where it ended for everyone else? The video did not freeze, it just stopped and the progress bar reached the end. Can anyone comment on what might have caused this? As I am not seeing comments from others about this, I am guessing that it is specific to this device. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.
Every Christmas many boats deck themselves out in Christmas lights and go out at night in Seattle. It can't rival these displays but it is quite a unique tradition.
i live in saint augustine fl the night of lights is such a beautiful scene especially the restaurants that are right in the middle of saint augustine near the bridge they are just a fantastic place for a family night out or a date night. 100% worth the traffic and parking chaos
I think the video was cut short due to energy costs displayed…
Many yrs ago (20+) before this kind of thing was more common, our young neighbor did this kind of thing. Not clusters of every Christmas yard ornament you could find but lots of lights outlining everything. It was beautiful and it was his labor of love. Until the jackwagons started coming in the middle of the night and pull up lights and tearing things down. We live out in the country so traffic wasn't an issue but it also made it difficult to catch the culprits.
You should watch national lampoons Christmas vacation 😊
See. You say aww man but have you ever turned a corner and had your retinas burned out because your neighbor decides to cover every inch of their lawn in lights? I absolutely think requiring it to be limited is fair.
I live near st augestine and while night of lights is beautiful I wish there was a little more to it. Like yes there are lights everywhere and it's beautiful but that's about it there aren't many special events (At least that I've been told about)
Kabir, this was so much fun… until
The video stopped in the middle 😮. I think there is a problem with the upload. Hopefully you can get the full video up! Love your reactions. Merry Christmas from Florida!
let me just put it this way lol for us in the states during the holidays so many people do so many lights and decorations on their homes that… we as Americans as a natural instinct of living here go around all the neighborhoods in our area and we just drive and drive and drive looking at all the Christmas lights and decorations of all the homes we pass by we take whole days and nights to this lazy fun activity we get blankets for the car we get our hot cocoa ready to sip in the car we turn on the Christmas radio stations and we see all the decorations we even make games out of it one game we have is a Christmas home decoration treasure hunt! it's a piece of paper with a list of things on it ranging from snowman to Santa to polar bear to penguin to even "snoopy in a snow globe" lol because trust me there will be a house with a huge blow-up snow globe that has a blow up snoopy inside of it sitting on someone's lawn and it could be the size of a car lol and so we go around to all the decorated houses walking or driving checking off the list of Christmas outdoor home decoration as we play our Christmas treasure hunt game and let me say it's fun and amazing and it makes for a lot of great memories for the holidays
I don't think you appreciate how low US electricity rates can be, even with 2022's increases. In Florida where some of those displays were the average price still seems to be $0.14 per kWh. Where I live in Pennsylvania I can get 100% renewable supply for $0.1109 per kWh. Those prices are for supply only; the local utility's delivery charge plus fees is actually larger, but even so my normal monthly bill total is about $70–I can put up a f#%k ton of Christmas lights and not go over $100/mo total for the two months they're on.
8:17 They are in many tech areas I agree …with that said , some of the light show displays here are just advanced .
they're programed into computers to run the lights & music … simply magical
Stay safe & Much love ~
Hey Kabir, I haven’t seen anyone else say anything but the video cuts off at 5 abruptly and it doesn’t finish. Otherwise great video as always and I hope you’re having a great holiday season
We have a neighborhood in my city that over time, became more extreme with holiday lights. Eventually, it became a condition for any new home owner that they agree to not only not to complain about the decorations, but to decorate a lot themselves. It is now an official city ‘event location’ where to enter/see it, you donate food to the local food bank. Don’t worry about the electric bill either as it is now also supported by our local power plant. These are still personal homes, but they know what they are getting into now.
Guess who we live next door to Kabir? Yes, THAT guy! He starts just before Halloween and lights it up on Dec.1st. We have constant traffic up and down the street and his displays grow every year. We don't mind it all, though a couple of times have had to provide backup power to him when he overloads! Loved the Kobe Japan display with the bioluminescence! Hope you'll be able to finish up this vid. I need to know who number one is. I suspect a little place in China might be near the top.
i've spent most of my life in FL and my favorite thing about christmas is when palm trees get decorated with christmas lights.
The best home displays I think are the ones programmed to sync with a song, the best christmas song being Carol of the Bells
"Baltimore" is a city in the state of Maryland. It's the heroin capital of the US.
And I don't know about you but a million or more lights is going to be bright as hell while I'm trying to sleep!
What happened to other 4
The perfect tutorial for doing this is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Go Sparky! ;o)
A friend of my fathers had a huge house & he'd have electricians come out, set up and wire everything. It was pretty impressive.
Saint Augustine Florida is beautiful but I’m from Miami 4:53
My neighbor back in California was like that. I bought a house in a sleepy retirement village and the neighbor across from me would do his house up so freaking extravagantly that he would draw in crowds from outside. Piping in music that was synced to his animation and shit lol. Every year I go back to visit, I make sure to take a vid to show my wife and friends. Truly funny. These are beyond that though. – I can just think "poor power grid!"
Here in the US, they have contest between houses on some blocks. Judges award the best decorated house.
That was an abrupt ending
I just went to 34th Street on Saturday. I try to go almost every year. This year there was a house that was World Cup themed and had all of the different country's flags with Argentina at the top of the tree. I'm not aware of any controversy. Everyone loves it as far as I know. They block the street off to pedestrians only. There's usually food trucks and people selling hot cocoa. Then visitors typically walk down 1 block where there's a strip of all kinds of bars and restaurants so it brings a lot of business to the neighborhood. You can donate to help pay for the electricity, but honestly, it's a high income block. They don't have any trouble paying.
Wow that was a sudden ending
Thank buddy y.t can get quite depressing at times. Peace 2u and God Bless y'all
I live in bourbon country and the next county over builds a huge tree made of bourbon barrels. It’s probably at least 30 feet. It’s a site to see.
I like the average Joe who has no sponsorship and does it on his own. He does it for the love of just doing it and enjoys other families appreciate what he’s done.
Here in Richmond, Va we have a Tacky House Tour of homes with extreme Christmas displays
Kabir, the town that I live in here in Texas had a house that was on the TV show, "The Great Holiday Light Fight" and won about 5 years ago!! They had a fire 3 years ago [not because of the lights] and haven't been able to set up, but are hoping to next year. The name of their display is Wright's Lights. 💕
Never mind the bills, it's a great way to make your neighbors Hate you, try living next to that blinding noisy mess with your street constantly crowded with strangers.
What happened to the rest of the reaction video. Why did it stop so suddenly?
Imagine living close to one of these. We had to get darkening shade to be able to sleep.
Did I miss something? He only covered until #5 and the rest cut off after 16:11… right?
