Gardening Hack: Make your own Plant Food – Soluble Calcium Solution
1. Save you eggs shells
2. Bake at 350 for 20 min
3. Cool & place in a large ziploc bag
4. Crush and roll by using a rolling pin, alternatively you can use a mortar and pesto to grind even smaller. The smaller the pieces the better.
5. Pour crushed egg shells into a mason jar
6. Add apple cider or white vinegar and
7. You’ll see bubbles begin to form as a reaction of the calcium with the vinegar. Cover the jar loosely with a cheese cloth until bubbles stop forming
8. Allow to sit for two weeks loosely covered
9. You’ll be left with a brown liquid fertilizer! Use one tablespoon to four gallons of water and use as a soil drench.
10. Great for container gardening, veggie gardening, indoor gardening. Anywhere your soil needs calcium!
