Join us as we take a look back over a year of growth at gardenstead!
Over the last 12 months, we’ve learned about (among other things): sustainability, gardening for wildlife, biodiversity, alternative growing methods like hydroponics, how to manage invasive plant species, how to care for houseplants large and small and how to grow and sell flowers in environmentally conscious ways.
We’ve spoken with experts about how to grow, harvest and preserve. We’ve been inspired and queried by our community. We’ve learned about amazing growers doing amazing things for the land and for their neighbourhoods, and we even toured an urban farm, right in our very own backyard.
We are exceedingly grateful to all of the experts and growers who have so generously shared their time, expertise and knowledge with us.

Gardenstead is an online gardening community and plant lovers channel of gardeners who love to get their hands dirty, both indoors and outdoors. Our gardeners run the gamut. They are vegetable gardeners, houseplant nurturers, small space gardening engineers, herbalists, flower enthusiasts and succulent aficionados.
Our goal has always been to connect gardeners in an inclusive gardening community, foster and share knowledge, and make gardening resources available to everyone.
As we grow, we seek to expand our conversations about gardening and to
cultivate a mindful embrace of nature and the healing and grounding properties
to be found in it.
Plants cultivate connections between people — from urban settings of balcony gardens
and small spaces to rural backyards with larger and more expansive gardens. We hope
