My brother was arrested for driving without a license in ohio. He was deported and murdered ,his residency paperwork came in the mail a month after his death. My parents are US citizens.

It depends on the crime.
If it's a felony and prison time is more than a year….you will get deported.
Since he was naturalized since 9years old in the 1960s, I don't know why they don't have him as an US citizen.
His biometrics is fingerprints and facial/photo.
What was his crime?
When I was growing up the man who cut my hair was an extremely nice Hispanic natural born US citizen. He spoke English with a fairly strong Spanish accent but he was born in this country two two US citizens.
He even served this country, fighting as an infantryman in the Korean War. He came home to the US after his service was complete and right away went with friends to a festival in a nearby, rural town.
ICE did not exist at the time, but their predecessors showed up to the festival on a sweep. He was picked up and only escaped deportation because he happened to have his discharge papers to prove not only was he a US citizen, he was a veteran!
As far as I know, veterans are not normally required to have their discharge papers to prove they are US citizens. I asked him what would have happened had he not had those papers. He likely would have been deported.
Quite often in these sweeps they didn't check if someone had the legal right to be in this country. Several legal migrant workers and US citizens were deported to Mexico.
It leaves me to wonder, what if you are wrongly deported to a country where you are noty a citisen. You have no passport, and can not legally enter that country. Do they deport you back?
