If the argument for an officer to use deadly force is that he felt his life was threatened….why wouldn’t he try and get out of the way, why wouldn’t he try to retreat to the safer spot behind the door, if he’s staying in a danger zone to shoot he’s not trying to be safe he is trying to get a paid vacation and a body to brag about

Seems to me that this is another case of a cop throwing himself in harm's way to justify lethal force. Until the laws are changed, simple escape or even vehicular escape isn't a reason to go lethal… unless you yourself nearly cause the dragging by throwing yourself FORWARD the moment you hear the engine rev and the guy warns you "watch out!".

Ok. So here what's bogus about the whole thing is that the truck stopped at the begininng 0:37 is not the same one involved in the shooting at 2:04. Go back and you'll see that the original stop the red dodge dully had an reserve fuel tank in the bed and had a tailgate and rear license plate. How did all that shit disappear during the chase? had it still been in the bed it would have blocked the 3 bullet holes. Something is fishy about this whole story. They really need to make it protocol to put spike strips at the wheels as they approach on all stops, and then pick them up when it's over. If they flee like this, they won't go far.
It's not lawful to just check for weapons. That's called a 4th amendment violation and at this point government officials being so worried about weapons in general is a 2nd amendment violation.
