Maybe Reds was already pregnant from Jonny?
there will always be haters. Do your best to try and ignore them. If they don't agree with how you live, they can turn the channel!!! Be sure that those people couldn't live a week in your shoes!! Personally, I feel that you love your animals and do an incredible job understanding that they serve a purpose. Keep the videos coming!!!
I understand that some people don't like it when animals are processed for human consumption. But why do they watch your YouTube channel? That just proves what I have often heard – people will go out of their way to be offended.
The ignorant will continue to be uneducated and foolish. Don't allow them to get under your skin! This is what evil and wicked people want. They don't know Jesus, and if they think that they do, they're not following His Word correctly. Our guidance should only come from scripture and not from senseless people.
Gen 9:3-4, "3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. 4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood."
Mar 7:18-19, "18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
Rom 14:13-23, "13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died. 16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble. 22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. 23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin."
Thank you for today's video! Thank you for your kindness in your replies. I appreciate good pork and absolutely appreciate how it gets to my table. Have a blessed and productive new year!❤️
Pete, you and Hilary are amazing showing people what life on a farm is about.
The crazy commenters life fell off the rials long before watching one of your videos.
The vegans and vegetarians need to forage for food for a month or two. They would come around. They are under the delusion their salad has no impact on the world or animal life and ignore the moles, voles, snakes, mice, rats, birds and bugs. They won't eat their salad if it has leaves with brown edges. They want the freshest fruits and veg all year from around the world, not just when they are in season. Precious few of those animal lovers do diddly to help homeless, while they french-kiss their dogs dressed in little coats and boots like a baby for a 30 min walk (if they are lucky) after being locked up in a cage AKA apartment for 23 1/2 hrs a day. I actually feel sad for those people who are so badly missing things in their life they think putting a cat in a stroller for a walk is going to fill that void.
All the best to Hilary, you and your family for 2023 and the future.
Pete, thank you for your wise words at the end. I agree that your farm decisions are simply real. The non farming folks do not seem to know or care about reality facts. It is sad to see that disconnect. Good luck on your next five years with the pigs! Enjoy your farmer market videos too. God Bless! I hope you made it through the bad storms weather with minimal problems!
Maybe you should start slapping the bucket when you feed the pigs and they will connect bucket noise with food…..
Stubborn hogs will send you to hell from the resulting dialog.
Stealth special ops, haha!
Hi Pete, the reality and necessity of farming makes for an abundance of polarized ideologies. You will never be able to make everyone happy so just keep doing what you are doing. I have a farm channel as well and in it are a couple of videos where I trap some raccoons that are attempting to breach our chicken coop at night and those videos receive a great deal of scrutiny yet the reality is this is necessity. 👍🏽 on the channel!
A few days without food will cure any discontent a person has regarding eating meat.
Hello Pete & Hillary
I wanted to comment on your video yesterday when you were taking your pigs to market. I could sense in your demeanor you were feeling somewhat discouraged and perhaps wondering if your YouTube contributions are worth it all. You have brought this up in the best and I was proud of you when you decided to continue making videos. I think I speak for many that watch your videos that we thoroughly enjoy them every time we watch them. I remember when those pigs were born and how we watched them grew, and finally the day they are shipped to be processed. I raise animals for the same purpose, and no one enjoys the final process, but it is why they are raised in the first place. Please don’t let those that push for animal rights cause you to doubt what you are doing. No one will ever do something that everyone agrees on, that’s what is so great about so much diversity. You both will ultimately need to make the decision whether to go on or stop sharing videos, but for me, I hope you continue. I can see you appreciate your animals and enjoy sharing them with others. My best regards to you in the coming new year. Thanks for sharing life on the farm on “Just A Few Acres”
Merry Christmas Pete!!!
In my book, you and your family are decent fokes.
You will never make every one happy!!!
Support your local farmers by buying direct from them. Yes, people think reducing the number of cows will help solve global warming. Wrong. And they still want air conditioning and heated pools, gas guzzling SUV’s, out of season food that must be transported over thousands of miles, etc.
Yeah Pigs are gone always a good feeling when they are gone.
Thank you for sharing the reality of farming and growing food. The disconnect between consumer and producer and the idea that meat just comes from the grocery store is because of all the layers put between consumer and producer. With your videos (and business model), you are removing those layers, which is for the better. You also show that farm animals grown for food can have a great life, with just a single bad day, which we would all be lucky to have.
Hi Pete i love watching your videos i am 81 years old my wife and i babysit our 18 month old grandson when he comes in the door first thing he says to me Pete and he will sit with and watch, you keep doing what your doing. PS my Daugter in law bought me your book for Christmas Happy New Year to you and family
One of your best videos. I'm sure this is a reiteration of the fine folks that responded to this video. Your sincere feelings and passionate caring struck a moving cord. This type of content should be shared in schools, so children understand the cycle of life and the source of their food. Why we are so sensitive to the difficult parts of animal husbandry and meat processing? Its Life, death, the cycle repeats…Get Real!
Your doing a great job. Love the videos and your knowledge. Keep doing what your doing. We buy all of our pork, beef and chickens from a local farmer that raises them. Best meat we have ever had. Thank you very much.
Keep up the great videos and remember you only hear from the handful of extremists and not the vast majority of people who understand what farming is what it takes to get a steak on the table!
Just as you are getting out of growing mutts to bring to market in an effort to increase the quality of your product you can also micro manage the herd quality of your subscribers with the use of the block button. As soon as they start talking about crap that doesn't align with the pedigree? Send them into the cornfields!!
The reason they didn't want to get out at the butcher is because they know what that place is and what is going to happen to them there. Animals have the ability to sense things like that. I guess you could call it a "6th sense".
