Expressing Soul Through Self Portraiture | Lizzy Gadd | #BHOPTIC

Self portrait photography allows Lizzy Gadd to ground herself in the moment and connect with nature. Not shying away from her emotions, her work reflects what she feels in that moment, from awe to anxiety. In this presentation, she explains her process of taking self portraits, such as location choice, gear used and other creative choices.

  1. I’m absolutely blown away. These images are so stunning. I’ve been in a creative funk for a couple months but watching this has reinvigorated my passion. Thanks so much.

  2. Always found Self-Portraiture a bit weird, if not clever and visually amazing, but I think i finally get it now.
…after all why not pose for your own photo, just as you want rather than using another model, much more what you want and meaningful to you .
What a truly stunning and amazing journey , you have motivated me 😀

  3. Wow. I am speechless. I love event photography, and i really don't understand landscapes. But I'm thinking that it's to get myself a "red dress" equivalent, and start stretching. Thanks for sharing your wonderful images!

  4. This has to be the best presentation I have seen. Very inspirational. Beautiful photos that I was not expecting for the subject. Thank you.

  5. Lizzie Gadd’s self-portraits are mind-bogglingly beautiful. The creative flow she spoke of here is so evident in her work, and her work in turn is so grounded in the natural beauty of her surroundings, that one senses that she is at heart an integral constituent of the majestic area in which she grew up and which she valued and sought out from an early age. It’s as though nature gave rise to the place, and the place gave rise to Lizzy Gadd. What a wonderful body of work this young creative has already produced.

  6. All that and spawned a group of like minded women photographers using the same theme to their work now!
