I had errands to run early this morning and couldn’t join my usual hiking friends, so I headed out on my own in an attempt at capturing the awesome beauty of winter. Snow flurries, below freezing temperatures and a biting cold wind would remind me who was in charge as the beautiful scenery appeared in front of me. I was never a part of this, only a messenger being allowed to see and try to capture a gorgeous landscape as it is. I built a small fire to warm myself, sat near it and reflected on many aspects of life itself. I have been refreshed in my mind, heart and soul. It’s days such as these that help me keep going. I need them… nature provides them, no matter how cold and harsh the conditions are. Out here is where the essence of life is. You won’t find it sitting in your recliner watching the television. Try sitting around a fire on a hillside in a snowy, cold, breezy day.

Nice day you had! Oscar's farm site sure is pretty in the snow. Nice too, that you had everything to yourself. Adds to the peace of it all. Captured some good ice hangings. I bet there'll be more opportunities for that coming up soon. Nice lil fire. Bet that was welcoming on a day like that. Fun video Papaw. Enjoyed it a lot!
Thank you Papaw, for another wonderful video.
Absolutely beautiful in the snow 🥹
Wish we’d get more snow in England
Oscar. 🙂
Giving me the itch to get back down there, Papaw. Hope to see you on the trail sometime!
Looks like you had a great day brother. Any day out there beats a day on the couch.
Big south fork is beautiful even covered in snow I really enjoyed this video thanks for sharing it with us God bless stay warm
I always liked the new home. Reminds me of where I was raised. Every trail has a personality depending on the season, weather, and time of day. An average trail in summer might be spectacular in winter.
Absolutely beautiful. Hope you had a great Christmas.
