  1. Hi Larry,i have a small first time gutter grow system, things r coming nicely,my question is how do you deal with allege in the rain gutter?

  2. All i see buckets of plants yet i did not see the system
    so many bored unnurtured husbands

  3. Same principle is used with the Octopot system, but what I think makes them better is using the fabric pots that allow the plant roots to air prune themselves instead of being against plastic walls. I chose this route for growing cannabis specifically because I’m gone 5 days a week and just have to fill reservoir with water/nutrient mix. Over and under watering is one of the biggest problems new cannabis growers face.

  4. My project for the weekend coming
Guttering in the back of the van ready to go.
Thank you you gave me a better idea than what I had in my head 👍

  5. Rain gutter system is the combination of 2 hydro methods with only the idea of a gutter to hold water. What hydro mehtods you may ask… It is a gravity feed system which is used passively around the world, and the wicking system which is primarily used with rockwool slabs. IN fact the rockwool slabs are placed into a 40" long gutter. Used by commercial farmers all over the world.

  6. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, I'm starting a small pepper farm on a quarter acre of my homestead and since we have a really bad mole/vole problem here we use mostly raised beds. This seems like a perfect solution for us I'll build one and let you know how it works! 👨‍🌾🌞👍

  7. There are still problems with this system..The gutters in between the plants don’t get covered so water between can do lots of evaporation…There needs to be a cover on the gutter between the buckets. Also, this system has very little water movement so there is stagnant water in between the buckets that creates a place for mosquitoes to hatch and grow..That is another reason the gutter needs a cover between the buckets…

  8. We've got too many skeeters in Florida to have any standing water like that. That's why I'm exploring a modified wicking bed system using kiddie pools, french drain, and sand as a subirrigation station where I can just set down cloth grow bags filled with a soilless potting mix as described here. Very similar in concept. I'm looking forward to it.

  9. Sir, where can I buy one of the floats you use to keep the water level consistant? I can't open the link you provide on how to build because Google tells me it is not a safe site. Thank you for your help.

  10. People worry about root rot and the roots of the plants sitting in the water but I use flood tables + pots sitting in the flood tables and the plants (pepper and tomatoes) sit in constant water and never develop any issues.

  11. But I enjoy watering, inspecting, trimming and talking to my plants lol This systems seems costly too but am glad it works for a lot of people. Is basically is a self-watering system. I would think this takes the joy out of gardening for a true gardener.

  12. Larry Hall been using your system for the last 5 years and the same Walmart Blue bags.they are still going strong

  13. Imagine taking or up to the next level again by replacing the water with hydroponic nutrient and instead of potting mix use a mixture of perlite and coco
