HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY’S SHOW:
THE COUNTRY HAS REACHED A RECORD HIGH OF 600 MURDERS FOR THE YEAR THIS FAR WITH THREE MORE DAYS BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS.
Eight persons were killed in separate incidents across Trinidad between Friday and Tuesday.
The killings, which have pushed the murder toll for the year thus far to a record high of 600, happened in Pinto Road, Arima (1); Mt. Do’r Road Champ Fleurs (2); Claxton Bay (1) Tunapuna (1); Pleasantville (1); La Horquetta (1); Retrench Village, San Fernando (1).
• There was also an incident in which a woman stabbed her husband to death during a domestic dispute at their Sangre Grande home over the long weekend.
2 men were shot and killed in Pinto Road, Arima in separate incidents today and yesterday:
• Today, a man identified as 45-year-old Ashram Williams was shot while at Hoyte avenue around 1:30pm.
• Williams was taken to the Arima hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
A man was found shot to death inside a house off Hoye Avenue, Pinto Road in Arima on Tuesday 27th December, 2022.
• The deceased, police said, has been identified as Jason Blanc aka Doggy of Pinto Road in Arima.
• The incident happened around 1:30pm where the deceased was chased by two men along Bolo Alley Houte Avenue, Pinto Road, Arima.
• Doggy jumped over a wall and ran into a house and he was pursued followed and shot in the head by the suspect who fled the scene on foot. Police officers responded to the shooting incident and found the victim dead with a gunshot injury to the head.
• One 5.56 spent shell casing was found at the scene which led police to believe an AR-15 rifle, which had only one live round of ammunition, was used and that may be the reason why the suspects did not shoot at Doggy while chasing him.
A teenager was killed and three others wounded while mourning the murder of their friend at Mt. D’or Road in Champ Fleurs on Monday night.
• The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Tishawn Mansano of River Branch Road, Kelly Village, Caroni who died while undergoing emergency surgery at hospital on Monday night.
• The other injured victims are Tishawn’s elder brother, 20-year-old D’vante Mansano of River Branch Road, Kelly Village, Caroni; 19-year-old Kendell Best of Mentor Alley, Laventille (stable condition); and 26-year-old Kyle Celestine, (stable condition)
• Around 9:30 on Monday, all four victims were standing on the roadway along Mt’ Dor Road, Champ Fleurs near Hilltop Lane, where they went to light flambeaus in memory of their murdered friend, 26-year-old Akeil Antonie, when three men approached them with guns and opened fire.
• The suspects later fled the scene on foot along Hilltop Lane and the victims were taken to the Mt. Hope Hospital where Tishawn later died.
A Mt. D’or man was gunned down outside party at Mt. D’or Road in Champ Fleurs early on Monday 26th December, 2022.
• The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Akeil Antoine of Mt. D’or Road, Champ Fleurs who was declared dead on arrival at the Mt. Hope Hospital.
• Shortly before 1 am on Monday, Antoine was said to be liming at the side of the roadway in company with other persons, outside a party near Hill Top Drive, Mt. D’or Road, when a man emerged from Hill Top Drive and shot him multiple times about the body before fleeing the scene.
