  2. you're doing a great job keep up the good work and don't let the devil come between y'all and I will keep praying for your family

  3. Hey, kudos for trying right? A wood frame attaching the pipe is pretty easy. I recommend using ABS pipe that comes in a roll ibstead of still PVC. It won't cause the pushing you are getting. PVC can be bent using a little heat. Use a big barrel to aid in the curve. I love that it's hinged too.

    Praying for Grandma. ❤❤❤

  4. I cannot comment on your live for some reason can you show the cooking set up, we have fire pit but need the supports for pans. We cooked on ours last nite wit pie irons, and wire burger basket.

  5. Zach, instead of a 2×4 frame you can put pvc tees from side to side to keep the base from bowing. That’ll keep it lightweight like you have it and keep it cheap. 2 tees on each side with a length of pvc for each should work great. Great video btw!!! Keep on truckin y’all!!

  6. Yes, it IS genius!!! The real life approach is appreciated for sure. God bless, y'all have a great weekend. Lifting y'all & your families up in prayer. It does seem that when it rains, it pours, however God ALWAYS leaves a silver lining. That supper looks delish!

  7. Delicious looking soup..peas recipe. Yes Zack that have me a lot of ideas I may build one..I also have a window from a discarded storm door I want to build a cold frame.

  8. You will need to paint or tape your PVC pipes where it touches the plastic to avoid the outgassing which will rot your plastic prematurely.

  9. Shout out to Jason @ Sow the Land who did a PVC and rebar hoop design. I used his idea but with copper pipe instead of PVC so it would last and have a cool patina someday and match some of my other copper tape garden projects. Right now I'm using it with bird netting to protect my transplants, and I can water right through it, but I really like your idea of using T-elbows and hinges for when I put frost fabric or burlap over it this fall.

  10. I've been waiting to do this for a few years. My reason for delaying is I have a huge tree above that drops leaves and twigs, I didn't want holes.
I might uses 2x2s instead of 2x4s, they are lighter and would fit the top edge easier!

  11. LOL….Was fun to watch. How about 2 x2 won't be heavy to lift.
Jen, we had black eye peas for dinner today….Saturday here.
    HAPPY weekend to you all…..

  12. I see lots of great ideas for Stivers Hoop House 2.0, my 2 cents worth is making it in 2 sections might make opening it a 1 person job. Dinner looked awesome! Glad your Grandma is doing better, prayers for continued healing for her.

  13. Thank you for sharing your building project!! I definitely will need one of those hoop-houses when we finally get to hire a little piece of land.

Blessings for you and your family <3
    Love from The Netherlands,
    Diana

  14. Couldn’t you have the pvc frame on the ground outside the box? Farmtek for the clamps for the plastic

  15. Great idea!!! What zone are ya'll in? Zone 6 here. So how low would the temps have to go lose a crop. Never used a hoop house but interested. Thanks for the info!!

  16. Lol..your mom likes beets so she might like black eyed peas..rofl.. yep.. she might

  17. I am making the Peas and sausage tomorrow. I saw it on the FB page Friday and added it to my meal plan for the week. I am so excited to try it.

  18. Not meaning to be critical but I think it would be better to do a big one so that you can walk through and spend time in. My 20×12 tunnel gives me time out with my coffee through the winter. My favourite place. (I used rebar and a wooden frame.)

  19. As soon as you said about your grandmother being in the hospital and how you needed prayers I stopped listening and I did a prayer for your grandmother and I got goosebumps on my arms I just started shivering you know I was I was like Wow and then I pushed it back on and it continue listening and you said that she was out of immediate danger and was recuperating and I just thought to myself Praise Jesus he is already told me that she was okay

  20. I actually was just telling my husband I wanted to do this exact same thing to our gardens. Living in Colorado, we don’t have a long growing season & we live in suburbia so we don’t have enough space for a big green house. This is perfect. We’re gonna get on it & try to grow Spring veggies early. Also, I love how real the two of you guys are. Thank you!!!

  21. I saw on another video, that took 3/4” pvc, cut it a inch or two long( your preference) then cut it long ways. It allows it to open. Use as a clamp to hold plastic to pvc. Works awesome😊
