  1. All the changes make a lot of sense to me. They are calling it Quick and Easy CK of the Month. And I think that is exactly why we would buy a card kit. To make quick and easy cards. And supplies to make about 8 cards also sounds about what I think most people might want to make with one kit.
The way it is now, it would make a terrific gift for a non-cardmaker. You would not need very may additional supplies to make cards. Maybe just some adhesive. So someone with no supplies, no time and/or no experience could make up some quick and easy cards

  2. I really really don’t like the new card kit. I don’t feel there’s value and when you examine the contents of old $100 Total Package Value subscription [which include the much better Card kit with die set, stamp set, 8 or 9 full size sheets of paper, it also included the huge APG die set]and compare to the $105 new Total package where you get small pre cut card and much less of it and no gold card stock, you loose a die set, loose a stamp set. You then get an extra embossing folder and for me a completely unwanted stitching die. Just not a fair trade off value wise with price increase and less product. Price of card kit has gone down BUT price of ‘Less Value Club’ has gone up. I really hope others see this and give feedback to Spellbinders. Nothing against you Tina, I know you’re a brand ambassador and do your best to promote the product.

  3. Happy New Year, I'm not a fan of the changes at all, since I really liked getting a full pad of pattern paper, which it doesn't appear you can buy as an add on. I think making the stamps and die set an add on does make sense, and being limited to A2 panels makes the card stock a lot less valuable. It seems like it should be a $20 kit with all the stuff they took away.

  4. Less card stock, less patterned paper, no dies, no stamp set, fewer envelopes, fewer cards, no gold card stock, envelope too narrow for sheet of card stock, hmmmmmmm. The jewels are still gawdy and too big for mailing. The small dies were always so nice to make small embellishments. Card makers will have to decide if this new iteration brings enough value to justify purchase. We are all trying to manage the impact of inflation and hobbies, unlike food, rent, etc., are discretionary purchases.

I buy the kits to make cards for nursing homes but now…………

  5. Happy New Year!

Thanks for the explanation about the card stock since I thought it was. no longer included. I like that it's cut down to avoid waste.

  6. The coordinating die set is almost as much as the card kit so if you want kit and die it’ll be over $50! That’s crazy!

  7. Thank you for the updates. As a 5×7 cardmaker who prefers diecut designs on my cards, this kit is now totally off my buying list. This type of kit, with only ephemera, may be good for beginners, but not for me. Too bad, as Spellbinders has always been known for their fantastic dies.

  8. Their costs have gone up. I think they made good decisions with this kit and understand why. Looks like fun!

  9. Interesting changes. Unfortunately it’s still not for me. I love all the changes, especially the price reduction, but I’m a stamper & stenciler, which Spellbinders doesn’t really cater to. (Not knocking them; you can’t please everyone). I don’t have a die cut machine, and with the current prices, I probably never will. While I love the paper changes (I prefer singled sided and individual sheets vs double-sided pads), I can buy those separately at anytime from anywhere. Spellbinders as a whole doesn’t carry the kind of product I prefer, but the kits were tempting last year. Not so much now. I can see this as a good place for a beginner to start, though. Looking forward to seeing your inspiration. 😊

  10. Very disappointing change to the card kit in my view —- half the pattern paper, less cardstock, less cards and envelopes, no stamps or dies ( Spellbinders signature product in my view). The price reduction doesn't seem to match the loss of all that. There are other card kits out there and I'm not sure this new package will compete well with them.

  11. Don't really like the change.Miss the stamp and die set.Might have to cancel club set.I'll wait till I receive my kit.Was always very satisfied with all the products.

  12. Hi Tina! Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you for showing us the changes in the card kit. I don't mind the changes at all since I rarely used the dies or the stamp set for that matter. I love that they lowered the price, it's all good. Have a wonderful day!

  13. Well this is very disappointing. And the price point is not in line with the products. The price of the addons is more than the kit, plus if you don’t create A2 size cards then you are definitely not getting a value. It was bad enough when the designer paper went to being very thin scrapbook paper instead of quality dsp, but this is just sad! I canceled all my subscriptions.

  14. Spellbinders has made an error in judgement in my opinion. They will lose many crafters due to these changes. There is no value in their kits anymore. Sad but true. Thanks Tina for your presentation. It was well done but the value is just not there.

  15. I'm not a really a "kit" kind of crafter; it sounds as although they've lowered the price of the kit, they've also really decreased what quantity and quality of what goes in the kit. This kit seems more like a glue/stick kit – no stamping or die cutting or coloring, etc., sounds like less creativity, in my opinion. Everything is basically 'flat'. That being said, I also know pricing everywhere has gone up ridiculously (30-100%) on everything, which has caused companies to make hard changes. I don't like it, but I kind-of, sort-of understand it, but like I stated, I think it is all extreme and ridiculous.

  16. I'd literally just joined for the kit and the stamps mainly.. but now you're not even getting card stock so I cancelled.. I'm trying love from lizi now

  17. Not a fan of kits with just paper and ephemera as I like to stamp and color and love dies. This would be a good deal for someone just getting started who doesn't have Copics yet or is not into coloring. I don't have an issue with the A2 size paper as I always cut mine down anyway. It will be interesting to see how this affects the number of subscribers. I know that costs are going up on everything due to freight costs increasing. In 2023, I only plan to buy new things that are substantially unique, different, or innovative as my craft room storage is FULL. I've got to get away from buying all the things because I have so much, I'm overwhelmed when it comes time to make something. Like the meme that says, "I've discovered that buying craft supplies and actually using craft supplies are two different hobbies." My goal for the year is less buying and more using.

  18. I understand everything is costing more, I see it everyday at work. I think I would of rather paid more for the value kit and not have a change in the card kit. Maybe less money but less cards. I will be buying the add-on’s anyway. I will probably try to find coordinating stamps in my stash. I believe I have a stamp set from My Favorite Things I can use with it.

  19. I literally just joined in December and just got into card making. So I’m literally the person they made these changes for. I have cancelled. If I wanted this type of kit, I’d get Annie’s. Fortunately we can talk with our money and there are several other kits out there from other folks that are worth it.

  20. So sad, I guess other craft companies will follow suit. This past year, I've had to really be careful spending with this hobby, this change makes it more difficult. After almost a decade with card making, it may be time to find a new hobby. This is great for beginners, not so much for seasoned paper crafters. I'm tired of chasing new items that are gone by the time I see tutorials as well. My heart is broken. Craftroom for sale, I've got to cut (no pun intended) my losses and move on.

  21. I too am very disappointed with this kit, I am considering cancelling my subscription. I also agree about the packaging, it's not sustainable. Poor choice spellbinders!

  22. Happy New Year, Tina. Thanks for showing the changes in the kit. I read the email they sent out regarding the changes but its nice to see them laid out. I always love the die cut packs and stickers, but I also loved getting the stamps and dies. I dont think the price reduction is relative to the value of what is included in the kit, to me the price is too high for what you're actually getting now. And I do wish these companies would get away from all the plastic. Atleast the boxes could be recycled and would break down. Plastic is such a huge threat to the environment. I cancelled my subscription. But i will for sure still watch for your wonderful inspiration using the kits.❤
