Join me on my first horseback riding adventure in Iceland! This emotional and evocative journey took me through stunning black sand beaches and breathtaking landscapes. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my incredible host, Hordur, who is not only a skilled horseman but also taught me a new way to ride and understand horses. Thank you, Hordur, for showing me the magic of Icelandic horses and for making this trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Watch the video to see all the highlights of my journey and come along with me on this unforgettable adventure!

  1. This video is TRULY extraordinary. Obviously you had phenomenal scenery to work with, but you captured it and edited it so wonderfully as well. You can tell he adores his horses and his home, and takes such pride in showing it to visitors. How special an experience. Quick question, the horses are obviously small, but you noted hardy. Is there a weight limit for these horses? They seem like ponies but obviously handle a grown man on them well enough. Thank you for sharing!!

  2. I don't even have the words, what an amazing video. I can't believe it's only part one!! I'm saving this to rewatch with part two. You've absolutely hit it out of the park with this vlogmas, you've put together stuff that's better than fully produced tv shows. It's been a really rough couple of months for me and it's really hitting me how great it's been to have these videos to escape into and look forward to ❤️

  3. This video was gorgous meg. Can we get a playlist of the music you used??
I loved Hordur's message. My current horse has taught me this more times than I can count in the last 3 years I've owned him. He gets scared very easily and I just started laughing at him, to let him know everything is okay and good. He has instantly relaxed from a chuckle and overall it helps keep me calm and breathing too.

  4. So you had to go till Iceland to have the best advice of how to be with horses ! This Man is a great horseman. I i thought you were weary touched too by this incredible journey, love and peace. 🍀❤🐴

  5. This is a dream of mine and has been since I was a child. I have yet to get to do this.
I just love Iceland and the Icelandic horses!!! .❤❤

Do England not really have imported Icelandic horses? We have so many of them where im from, some imported from Iceland, others bred here. We have competitions as well just for them, and they look like so much fun! I want to buy one so bad, but they are quite expensive 🤣🤣

  6. Wow, Meg! Best of your adventures! Really love the thinking behind riding with your body and energy. Makes total sense. The photography, absolute beauty giving the natural environment justice. Wow!

  7. Wow. Meg this video was just incredible. What an amazing experience. I cried just because of how incredible this video was. What a beautiful man, beautiful horses, beautiful views and scenery and beautifully edited. Love it, your best video ever ❤

  8. I'm so surprised you've never ridden using your breath and energy etc… its the horsemanship way, it's the best way to ride! I'm sure you've learnt alot and I hope you put into practice. Stunning scenery, my friends live in iceland, it is beautiful

  9. i definitely needed to watch this, to hear all of this. i've had a problem recently with my anxiety spiking around horses. this video almost made me tear up because of how great a help hearing and watching all of this is. just to breathe, be in the moment, and focus on myself. not to put too much pressure on myself, either. i'll definitely be watching more of yours & Mr Icelandic's videos. it's the confidence booster i needed- 100%

  10. This was a wonderful video Meg! I found it so moving ❤️
It seemed to me that you really connected with this more "emotional" and sensitive style of riding. I'm sure you'll be taking loads of Mr Iceland's wisdom home ❤️

  11. ahhh this is literally my dream!!! you perfectly captured the beauty of everything!! hopefully someday i can experience it in person🤞😂🫶

  12. this guy made me miss ridding like i never had before. The only way for me to ride again is side saddle as i can't spread my legs more than a few inches. Yet this is almost exactly how I was before I had to leave it behind!

  13. Incredible. This was absolutely wonderful. I rode in the Moutains and also the beach and that is the closest to God, I feel, or maybe just a part of everything. Completely silent and being natural in nature. I want to move to Iceland……Thank You.

  14. Well, I cried all the way through this beautiful film. I was lucky enough to ride Icelandic Horses here in Wales. My 2 ambitions were to ride in Iceland and also to have my own Icelandic Horse. Sadly, my chronic pain/fatigue conditions worsened and I had to stop riding, and then could no longer have ponies on our yard. There is still a tiny flame inside me that wants to try riding again. 2023 will be the year that I sit in a saddle again (I am 51 and rode from age 8 to 41). Happy New Year everyone.

  15. So I originally put this video on as a 'background' watch while doing some housework and lets just say no housework was completed during this video. It was truly beautiful gave me goose bumps. Such an amazing job Meg and especially Pete for running like crazy to get these precious shots for you 🧡

  16. That was so amazing and well done wow ! I feel so peaceful and connected ! I have a Tennessee walking horse which is also gaited it’s such a different feeling you have to let the tension go to move with them . I grew up around an Icelandic breeder the horses were always so incredibly sweet and gentle

  17. Everyone’s already said it – beautiful shots and editing, congratulations. It left me with a lovely feeling, really warm and calm and like I was in that horse barn. You need to do more travel videos!

  18. Love this video! What an experience! At uni I actually got to ride a good as my friend had an Icelandic x cob who tolted if you didn’t ask for canter efficiently! A great experience but not so great for the confidence when you fail to canter consistently 😂🥲

  19. Mr Iceland! 👍 Cape is unusual to see there. Sweater is very, very common. Very sensitive, willing horse! Wonderful video!

  20. No other words will do…. Sensational scenery its like where life began 🤩🤩🤩 what a privilege to experience that 😃😃😃

  21. Meg, this is something that you could sell as a documentary, for example horse and country TV. Just beautiful and blown away by all of it xx

  22. Honestly Meg – this video was simply beautiful, it was absolutely stunning – pure magic! – thank you so much for sharing this awe-inspiring place, incredible horsemanship and amazing horses! New life goal for sure!

  23. I'm heading to Iceland in March. This video persuaded my siblings, who have not ridden before, to take a beginner's ride with me when we are over. I've not even got to Iceland yet and I know this short ride with my siblings will be the most precious ride of my life. ❤️

  24. Absolutely my favorite video! The ice man's words and philosophy was beautiful. This really touched my soul
