  2. Hi Janey, Happy New Year! Zone 9b here in Scottsdale. Rainy for days, gray, cold…..no planting for us. Plants covered with freeze cloth so the garden is literally "put to bed". Your pink is a welcome sight!

First up for me will be adding violas and pansies (my preferred cool season flowers) and pruning back my roses. 7. Happy New Year you guys, hope Santa was good to you all. Have you try planting primrose out, maybe your cottage garden would be a good spot. Mine die back to nothing, but will come back every time. I know I'm in 7b, but hey it's worth testing.? Just last night I was counting down the days for your Master Gardener adventure.

  8. I'm in northern Minnesota, so no outdoor gardening for me! But the snow on the evergreens is so very beautiful! For now, I'll enjoy your garden. Thank you!!

  9. I'm so jealous of those of you that can garden this time of year & that have big, huge, garden centers like that! Ours are so tiny compared to that one! Looks Beautiful though Janey!

  10. Iโ€™m so jealous youโ€™re planting on January 2. Iโ€™m in Indiana so no way for me. But living vicariously through you!

  18. Happy New Year, Janey! ๐ŸŽ‰Here's a tip that works well for me, I keep a 3-inch-wide trim paintbrush in with my planting supplies (replaced every few years) to dust off my plants and planters after I've planted them up. It also works great for 'dusting off patio furniture! ~Margie๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’š

  19. Hi Janey! Happy New Year!!! Pink is so pretty for spring. You look so bright and cheerful today. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  20. I'm definitely going to check out the Elkgrove Green Acres! Your window box turned out great. I am interested in the English daisies!

  21. Greetings from SE Wisconsin Janey. Only a fellow gardener would understand about being at the garden store the minute it opened !

  22. Janey, I love you! But I just can't watch you plant beautiful flowers when my garden is buried under almost a foot of snow. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  23. Primroses do quite well in SF Bay Area since we rarely heat up though still in z9B. They bloom nearly non stop all year long in part shade/early AM sun. I prefer Primula when I can find them as they stay smaller and their blooms are often difficult than their larger cousins. Happy New Growing Year to you and your family!

  24. Girl got to have her pink!!! The window box is lovely. I am in South Alabama and it is 82 here today!! Crazy hot after the big freeze. Love your channel.
