Growing cabbage from a propagated root is a simple process. Here are the steps you can follow:

Start by selecting a healthy root from a mature cabbage plant. Look for a root that is at least 2 inches in diameter and has several small rootlets growing off of it.

Prepare a pot or container with well-draining soil. Fill the pot with a mix of equal parts compost, peat moss, and perlite or vermiculite.

Plant the root in the pot, making sure to cover the rootlets with soil. The top of the root should be about 1 inch below the surface of the soil.

Water the soil well to help it settle around the root.

Place the pot in a sunny spot and water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist.

Once the cabbage plant has grown to about 6 inches tall, you can transplant it into your garden or a larger pot.

With proper care, your cabbage plant should thrive and produce healthy heads of cabbage. Enjoy!
