  1. Wow truly never thought of a negative thing on your channel until this post which is ridiculous people a literally dying from the cold and ice 50 alone in Buffalo NY, quit your whining

  2. We’re on the nature coast by the gulf. It got down to 19° , we covered it all but lost them anyway. 😢

  3. Hi Jerry and Linda! Enjoying your ride through Dunedin. Beautiful homes ! I don’t like the cold weather either. Makes my bones hurt. Stay warm and cozy. Soon you’ll be able to take your socks off and enjoy the warm Florida weather. ❤️😊

  4. We have the same hose reel 🙂 We paid about $170 for it- worth every penny. It will still work long after the house has fallen down.

  5. Thanks for braving the cold and taking us along on this fun ride…my favorite part was the "50 foot" snowman! ☃ We've been getting some really cold nights here in NC also, but I hear it's going to warm up soon. Have a great weekend, and hugs to Gizmo!

  6. Loved it! And loved hearing all about your Christmas celebrations!! Another fantastic Youtube by you guys! Happy New Year! Give little Gizzy a kiss and boop on his little nose from Gen & Hal! XOgen

  7. Is it just natural weather variation or maybe it's the weaponization of the weather? Hmmm? At least the expansive lawns don't freeze and turn brown? Who takes care of the yards to make it look so manicured?

  8. Thank you for entertaining us all for free! May All of your dreams and wishes keep coming true! Lots of love and blessings from our family to yours! Hal&gen (YOU light up our lives!) Happy New Year!

  9. Don’t worry your Crotons will drop all those dead leaves and leap back into life as it warms up 😊. Loved your chilly ride, wishing you both a peaceful, healthy and productive new year 😎🌟🌟

  10. Hi Jerry and Linda, a Friend advised me to bring a winter coat with me to Florida and I'm sure glad I did! It has a hood and doubled zippered front. Brought 2 pairs of gloves also. I'm ready!!🥶 I didn't cover any of my plants either, so I'll be replacing a few that didn't fare well. Evven though we're having unusually cold weather for Florida, I'm still thankful I'm not on Long Island where it is much colder with snow!! Thanks for the golf car ride while we sat in our cozy, warm homes enjoying the views! 😎🌴 Stay warm and see you next year………Happy New Year!

  11. Didn't you two take some hot chocolate ( or coffee )along with you on your drive? Its been really cold here in Ohio, but in the 40's today. I sympathize with you and your kids not wanting some of your belongings. I have a 3' x 7' solid oak dinning room table that I built that when I am gone , I don't think my daughter will want. I have a lot of furniture that I built that she probably won't want . I also sent an e-mail to the guy who made the christmas trees asking for information so I could make some, but I haven't heard anything yet. Jerry do like to walk around your house and say to yourself, "I made that" ? I do.

  12. Wow. Here in Ohio over Christmas, the temp was 25 below with the wind chill. Crazy weather all over the country.

  13. I enjoy watching their show however, I am amassed why folks would want to live in such cookie cutter houses? The Villages look really boring, but I guess living in NYC I am jaded. I am glad folks are having fun there. To each there own.

  14. The cold has iguanas literally falling out of trees in my area of Palm Beach County. I’m up north where it’s really cold, but my friend went to my house and covered my hibiscus 🌺 plants that are unusual.

  15. We went on a Golf Cart Ride to Sumter Landing Square on Fri before deep freeze.Your tunnels are Awesome. Love the Scenery along the way. We have a Avacado Tree. Had some damage from freeze. Hope it bounces back

  16. Hi Jerry and Linda, Enjoyed your ride around in coats, an everyday happening in winter in Switzerland. However we are having unseasonably warm weather with temps up in the high 50s. Hated to see so many of your plants pass out in the cold – that will be expensive to replace, but then I guess the next time you shoot for something more hardy!

  17. Happy New Year Linda, Jerry & Gizmo. I hope your plants survive. The tall snowman was quite festive. The temperature was 59 degrees in Chicago yesterday, 12/29…which is not common for late December in Chicago & was a big change from last week. I spent Christmas in suburban Cincinnati with my youngest sister & her family. Cincinnati got 5 inches of snow for Christmas, which is not common for them. Now my sister & niece are in Panama City Beach for a week enjoying the Florida sunshine…my turn for Florida is 44 days from now. 😎

  18. Margaret Holmes has several varieties of canned vegetables. Google led me to Walmart for this company's products. I will have to see if I can get some through Walmart.

  19. We spent Christmas in Davenport at my sons… we went to Savannah fir 2 days, and on the way home- I saw the overpass with This Villiage logo!! I waved at you, but I don’t think you saw me.
We endured Floridas cold snap. It warmed up yesterday- but we are almost back home to
    Laramie Wyo. brrrrrrrr

  20. Hi Linda + Jerry
I realized I skipped over the landscaping.

Not nearly as bad as it could have been. The Palms are in great shape. Crotons, though colorful, just weren't a match for the cold. The same for the Hibiscus. It happens.

I wanted to mention very hardy shrub:
FIREBUSH, * mini or standard size. They are native to Florida. Very ez to maintain, zero pests, beautiful orange floral sprigs with shades of fire yellow to orange, like a lit match.

They are known to attract humming birds and butterflies as they produce nectar.

They grow fast when healthy. Your hands or light shears are all that's needed, as they snap cut.

I use SPRAY N'GROW when planting and just as needed. The results are amazing. Every Spring and Fall I cut them nearly to the ground. The payoff is healthy new plants.

  21. Chillin in sunny Florida! Thanks for the tour. Yours was the only golf cart out there. Glad Linda had a heavy jacket. My guess is that it came all the way from your native Indiana. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

  22. Great video. This year it’s been a cold holiday for sure. I hope your palms do ok. Here in middle TN in Franklin we had snow and windchill of minus 30 degrees on Dec 23. That’s way too cold for us. Lol.

Happy New Year. I agree gravy makes everything better. And pineapple upside down cake is my favorite. I used to request it for my birthday when I was growing up. Lol.

  23. We were just visiting The Villages in early December from Wisconsin. My son and new daughter-in-law drove up to Wisconsin for Christmas and it was -27 to-35 with the windchills. Looking forward to a lifestyle visit in early July.

  24. Thank u Jerry and Linda ‼️. I'm glad y'all survived the big freeze. At least u didn't have sleet and freezing rain like we did in the PNW. Have a wonderful 2023…stay safe and healthy ‼️

  25. Don’t move to Florida…….The alligators are all over the place, and growing larger. Very cold this time, expecting 5 ft of snow next December. Maybe that will kill all those creepy spiders and palmetto bugs. I hate when they get in my shoes……..Think again…
