  2. I saw some evidence of rats in my balcony compost bin and freaked out… but then my OH put mint scraps in the bin and suddenly I didn’t have a compost bin anymore, I had 100l of mint growing. Turns out rats don’t like mint – total life hack if it hadn’t made all the compost unusable. internal screaming

  3. we live in a rural setting. our compost bins are in the open. did not help. what helped? Perches for raptors, on the gable of the garage abd on high poles. also helps against other rodents and deters moles, too.

  4. In my area of the Midwest rats are supposed to be all around us yet in 50 years never had a look at one. Odd isn't it.
