  1. That shelf is very much on trend right now. I too wondered how practical that really is.

  2. You are leaving a beautiful house but very excited for your future videos at your new beauty you found! Love it! Happy for you, your family and of course Stewart! It will become a show stopper! By the way you’ll have lucky neighbors too! Yes put tv on wall next to windows!

  3. I really detest TVs over the mantle, it is not really comfortable for watching, except for maybe one person who was able to look straight on from their lazy Boy chair and it also takes away a beautiful medium for seasonal decorating.

  4. It’s going to look awesome I can tell already. I am excited to see the plans for the front and back yard. Try not to get overwhelmed in putting things away, take one day at a time. ❤

  5. All my homes were on corners…the place I live currently is on the corner too… on purpose… I am a advid gardner..magazines, were interested…my yard, pictures were all over town in windows.. so much fun..
Do not watch tv..so I do not have one…
All our yards were designed to have iron gates and privacy..
Can not wait for all your imagination…

  6. If there's a storage closet nearby, put the TV on a stand and stow it away when it's not in use. I'm with you, I don't care for seeing a TV in any room. By the way, your new home is lovely. I vote for replacing the family room windows with a wall of French doors.

  7. That was my thought too on where to put thr TV. The great room is soooo nice !! The fireplace wall is beautiful ! I am so excited for your new adventure both inside and out. Again you did take me by surprise , yep ! I can envision those tulips already !!!

  8. Linda, you've got this! Between you and Hubs, the cottage will represent your love of the arts. I never like 'suggesting' someone do something – but I totally agree with putting the tv somewhere other than on the mantle. Thank you for not showing us everything at once – I love the element of a surprise and will enjoy seeing the gardens unfold as you plan and plant!

  9. Congrats! Looks great. Agree – Samsung FrameTV over the fireplace (customized art when not watching, less than an inch deep and totally flat to wall)

  10. You have gone from wow to wowsers! The light is awesome, the storage, that wonderful sitting room, I am well jeal ❤️ ! Can't wait to see how you settle in, future projects in house and out in the garden. This is a move for the better. It's got such a wonderful vibe. Well done you guys!

  11. I too left what was my dream home of 20 years after painstaking diy projects (before youtube🤨) both inside and out. It was a difficult decision but necessary. I wish you the best and will be watching !

  12. I have windows on both sides of my TV and it does affect how well I can see the TV. I only watch it there when it is cloudy. The other wall near bookcase might be better.

  13. How about rearranging the family room furniture and hanging the tv on the wall where the possible dining table is?
Couldn’t the front room be the formal dining room?
Lots of possibilities. Very exciting for you.

  14. I am going to say that the shelf above the stove is a fire rated class A or higher . Many veneers and even plywood material is used just for the kitchen.

  15. Here is an idea. maybe/maybe not. I imagine you will have a cable box, and also tv cords to hide. My idea was to move your couches to face each other. Then put the t.v. on the wall where the table is. This way, you can attach the t.v. to the wall and add a frame, and make the t.v. look like a piece of art. Then you can hide the cable/vcr, cords etc. in a small t.v. cabinet. So now you can enjoy the fireplace, and the t.v. then maybe put the table in front of the window, where you can add plants, when you are not using it for food. Moving the couches would creat flow into the Great room so you don't run into the back of a couch.

  16. Glad to hear you will not be putting TV above the beautiful fireplace. Very uncomfortable on the neck. Like your other wall option. That family room most likely will be you & hubs favorite place to relax!

  17. Hi Linda, congratulations on your new home!
I think it is worth to consider extending the window in the living room to the floor. Currently, the sofa and the wall block the view of the beautiful garden you will create. In the video it seems that only when you get close to the window you have the full view available. A big window would be like a big painting with your garden inside 🙂

  18. You can buy TV cabinets with lifts in them. The TV rises out of it when you want to watch it, then lowers back into the cabinet and out of sight when you're done.

  19. Don’t put tv on the wall. Not attractive at all. Put it on a beautiful console angled to couches and hubs chair. Love your new home!

  20. Kitchen idea. If this was my house, I would make the t.v. cabinet in the kitchen into a fireplace in a perfect world. Probably not easy to do. But I would imagine you would miss the fireplace, more than having a t.v. in the kitchen. Seems like the chair next to the t.v. cabinet would be uncomfortable to watch t.v. . How cozy it would be to have a fireplace for your husband to cozy up to when you are cooking a delicious home made meal.

  21. I have an island as big as yours AND I LOVE IT. WE KEEP IT NEAT AND IT IS MARVELOUS TO ENTERTAIN AND PUT FOOD.
OR STAND AROUND TO TALK SO MANY USES. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

  22. you can get one of those art piece televisions which look like tripod easels from LG… they stand on the floor
