慶雲館・近江・長浜の日本庭園　滋賀県長浜市港町2-5
慶雲館の敷地は約6千平方メートル。建物は尾張産の総檜造り寄棟造。2階建で約500平方メートル。建設費は当時破格の1万円。
当時の内閣総理大臣伊藤博文が「慶雲館」と命名したと伝わっています。
2階には玉座が設けられ、琵琶湖と伊吹山が一望できるようになっており、当時の新聞はその景色を「美麗壮観同地に冠たるものなり」と記しています。

Keiunkan is a state guest house that was built by a wealthy merchant in Nagahama for visits from the Emperor Meiji during the Meiji period (1868-1912). It is currently open to the public as a sightseeing facility. In early spring they hold the “Nagahama Plum Tree Bonsai Exhibition,” which brings in many tourists. They also have impressive gardens that overawe all who see them.
