  1. Tom Cruise actually did all of the stunts in this, even the rock climbing in the beginning, without wires. He's nuts.

  2. OMG you're watching mission impossible! personally love it more than James Bond. it really picks up after the 3rd movie with the introduction to Simon pegg's character, hope you finish the franchise in time for the seventh film coming out this June! they were filming MI7 and MI8 back to back before the 8th got delayed so hopefully we'll be seeing the 8th movie soon too

  3. Slow mo & Birds….a John Woo special. He was the hot director in Hollywood for a while. All his movies tend to have slow mo and birds for some reason. See “Face Off” “killer”

  4. I always felt like this movie was trying to be a type of Bond movie especially with the love interest, but by the next one onward they've found their footing and know what kind of movie they want to be.

  5. One of my favourite action films. This was indeed when Tom started doing his own stunts.
Tom and John Woo(the director) rewrote parts of the script for certain stunts(like the building jump)to fit in.
The pigeons are a John Woo signature thing(like dual wielding guns and rotating cameras)and you will find them in most his films.

The closeup of the knife to Tom's eye is real and not CG. It Is attached to a wire but, still really fucking dangerous. John wanted to use CG but Tom insisted on the real thing.
The last spinning jump kick Tom does to Dougray Scott actually connects to his chin and that's real sand flying off.

That's my off the top of my head trivia for MI2🙂

  6. This one got a little arty and such, but has a good story still. That's the director John Woo… with his signature doves, lol. Yes, Tom really free climbed that, and made that jump for real. And after this one they get back to the much more solid feel of the first one, and the danger, action, insanity ramps up with each one. This one isn't bad, but it is definitely the odd film out in the franchise.

  7. If you like this style of editing, I think you might like the Live Action Speed Racer!! which is one of my favourite films!!

  8. Personally, my favorite of the series. My business partner having been, just a year before, in Canberra on an exchange with his teacher-wife, might have influenced me.

  9. The doves are a signature of John Woo films…he always uses them. If you've ever seen the Nic Cage film Face/Off, you'll see them in that as well, but you really ought to check out his film The Killer, starring the incomparable Chow-Yun Fat.

  10. They let John Woo direct this one. He was a legendary Hong Kong action film director. It didn't really mesh with the franchise and in many ways this movie became a John Woo self-parody.

  11. Just wondered if you know the knife to the eye scene is real, they had a cable to limit how far down the knife goes, lot of trust in the cable not breaking

  12. Y'all should watch the documentary called.. free solo.. about Alex Honnold.. he's the best free solo climber in the world is it won an Oscar it's absolutely amazing

  13. This is the movie where Tom Cruise decided to do all of his own stunts.. ironically it was because of the first movie.. the last part of the movie were there in the tunnel and it explodes and it they have to use CGI to get him to look like it blew him on to the train he didn't like that he thought it didn't look real enough so he started doing his own stunts and everything so just a little fun fact

  14. Loved and hated movie, I love it, I find myself on that side, I really enjoy its spectacular stylized action scenes. To enjoy it, you have to see it as a John Woo movie, not as part of the saga, because it is very different from the rest. Many are disappointed because it's not like the first movie, but that's what I'm saying, to enjoy it better, you have to see it as a John Woo movie, not as part of the saga, because the movie has all his style, the same style of his other movies like: FACE OFF, HARD TARGET, BROKEN ARROW, etc. If you connect with his spectacular style of action, you will see Mission Impossible 2 with different eyes and you will enjoy it more, it happened to me, the first time I saw it I was disappointed because I expected something similar to the first movie, but over time I got to know the other John Woo movies and I began to value it in a different way and I began to like MI-2 more and today it is one of my favorites in the saga.

  15. Mi3 is a reboot. The tone and story gets a lot more consistent from then on. Mi2 is my least favourite in the series. From 3 on you can almost think of it as one story, with recurring characters and arcs. From 3 it becomes what the franchise is today. Keep up the great content

  16. Nice reaction. This movie is fun, but I also prefer the first one. From the third movie anyway I’d say there aren’t low points, all are good. And from the next movie the IMF TEAM/family gets more impact and importance in the storyline.

  17. I love the Mission Impossible series, it's one of my favorite action movies. A lot of people don't care for the second one. But I love it, the action scenes are still top tier! But I definitely think the movies get better as they go on.

  18. This was one of my favourite films for a long time when it came out, loved all the spy stuff as a kid, this and James bond were my jam 😎

  19. "this is Hans Zimmer doing the music right now" I think you said that during the Limp Bizkit song "Take a Look Around" which served as the theme song for this movie.

  20. This was an awesome reaction, the first video I've viewed on this channel! This movie is one of my favourite guilty pleasures along with Terminator 3 and Spider-Man 3, I always found it underrated. I love the style, visuals and soundtrack, it's a time capsule of the awesome late 90s, early 00s era of cinema and the turn of the millennium. This is probably my favourite movie franchise overall too so I'd love to see your reactions to the rest too!

  21. You guys: “What’s with the birds?!?” … “What’s with the slow-mo?”
Me: “Birds? And slow-mo? Did John Woo direct this?”
    Me: *checks IMDB*
    IMDB: “Director… John Woo.”
    Me: 😐😑😶🙂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
