2023 Full Aussie Summer Veggie Garden Tour // What's growing? // What's not growing? // 5 Acre Farm

Here’s a full tour of our main kitchen veggie patch, in summer for 2023. We’ve finally got some warmer weather, some more rain and everything is really taking off!
Zucchini, Tomatoes, Chillies, Capsicum, Peanuts, Potatoes, Lettuce, Luffa, Raspberries, Blueberries, Basil, Coriander, Corn, Edible Flowers and so much more.

It’s so nice to see our seeds start growing into plants and to even start giving us produce.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year. Happy growing 😀

We sit on the beautiful Wadawurrung country and we acknowledge the First Nations people as the Traditional Custodians of the land we live, work, grow and play on. We acknowledge and pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
We acknowledge the hardships, the horror and the harm that they suffered following colonisation and the devastating impacts of that, which are still evident and felt today.

  1. Here I was thinking Zinnias are just pretty. I didn't realise they were edible. Once you have your borage going, you will have it forever. I planted some soooo many years ago, and only planted them that one year and they come up every year ever since.
So great to see things finally taking off in the garden with some warmth arriving.
The 5 is going to look amazing when flowering 🌼 💖

  2. yes i bought mine off line and had them to attract the bees both honey and native.. i put them around the vegetables…. I did not know that the leaves were edible though.. as the flowers are like cucumber flavour… some of the plants will throw out some white flowers… you need to stake them they are a heavy plant. If you can can you show any problems that you are having with vegetables.. with sowing and weekly updates on pests disease etc.. not many people do… they seem to brush over all of that .. and its important to novices like me that can learn from others … xxx Happy new year to you and your fam Kat

  3. just started growing watermelons rockmelons etc… first year.. would love to send pics .. very proud of my achievements 🙂

  5. You’ve got a lot of cos seed coming by the looks. We’ve had real problems with basil this year so I wish you luck. Great to see the volunteers and mystery seeds getting away. Looks so productive.

  6. Happy New Year . Hope you have a good growing year. Interesting to see the last of the advent calendar. I think that’s such a fantastic idea. I think it might be copied by a few people next Christmas. Love

  7. The 5 will look really cool as the flowers start growing. I can't believe you remembered all those plants. Me going threw my little veggie garden I have to look at the labels to check what some are.
