Cleaning up a raised garden bed
This was done in November just before Thanksgiving removing vegetables from the raised garden bed. The summer vegetables were either harvested like the sweet potatoes or died with the colder temperatures. All of the stems I try to cut low to the soil and leave the roots in the ground to breakdown for the bacteria and worms to eat the organic matter. If you can make soil your soil is covered with a mulch it helps out so much. The mulch layer helps to increase life (bacteria and worms) in the soil, allowing it to heat up a little faster, and helping with some moisture retention.

Fuller Rooted brother !! Nicely done, we did the same with everything as well 🙂
Looking at the cinder block, little soil in them, do you think flowers or something would grow in them, or would there be too much evaporation?
See the rain water collection in the background!!
Tucker looks "full" of energy 🙂
Cheers Rick !!

B got plenty accomplished. Take care. 😎
Interesting stuff Rick. Must get back into asparagus again – miss having it. You are welcome to clean out mine too if you like 👍 open invitation 😉
Leaving the roots in. That’s nature’s way to do it. As is covering with a mulch. You cannot go wrong that way.
Congratulations on passing 1,000 subscribers. – KJ 👍🙂
Nice job, Rick, and what a great brother. I hope he serves great beer 🍺
