October Garden Jobs For The Weekend UK – Vegetable Gardening For Beginners At Home

Today we are looking at the October jobs for the weekend tips for vegetable gardening for beginners at home. An October weekend in the UK can be a busy weekend and this weekend is no exception in our back garden.

We aim to encourage vegetable gardening for beginners as most of us have room at home for a little to be grown. Vegetable gardening is very rewarding if you give it a go and by doing it at home you have it on your doorstep. Knowing what jobs we are doing at the weekend should help you plan what you could be doing this October or maybe next October with a bit of planning.

We are moving our peppers into the warmer summer house and making room by storing the onions and garlic in some racks. The peppers will continue to grow as long as we keep them away from the coldest weather.

The pumpkin and squash can now be moved to our conservatory as they have ripened well in the autumn sun. They will stay fresh and ready to eat throughout the winter as long as we keep them cool but frost free.

  1. Great tip, keeping produce in a conservatory if you have one. One you have pulled onions up, would you recommend keeping them in a dark place? The only place I would have to store mine is a front porch.
