It's Getting LATE! Planting Tulips, Ranunculus and Anemones :: Plus, Is the Birch Tree Coming Out?

“Welcome, winter. Your late dawns and chilled breath make me lazy, but I love you nonetheless.” -Terri Guillemets

Welcome! I am SO LATE getting my bulbs planted this year. With the hectic holiday season and now days on end of rain, I’m just trying to find any moment to get these bulbs in the ground! Wish me luck! 🌷 Enjoy!

  1. We look forward to watching you getting ready for the garden tour! Yay! Our master gardeners have a tour every other year, it’s called Tour de Fleur and I love it! Can’t wait! I was Chair of the garden tour in 2011, it was fun!

  2. What is the stuff you put down to deter the squirrels? I have such a huge issue with squirrels in my small garden- they eat everything!

  3. Ohh.i think removing the tree is the way to go.😊i enjoy ur gardening day.soo jealous is like i cant wait to garden outside but we still have a frozen ground.
Our winter is not half way yet .

  4. Why are you searching for an arborist to give you permission to remove your own tree? Can't you just get it removed?

  5. I don’t know about regulations in your part of the country but do you need permission to cut down trees on your property?

  6. It will definitely make that space way more usable. And slat wall in the garage is perfect.. I have tons of slat wall hooks and I said to my kids don't ever buy any I have so many from when we had our store.

  7. I'm in zone 9 in socal and just want to remind you that concrete will bring more heat during summer…So just be prepared hahaha..

  8. The repels all over the holes!😮 I need to do this! The squirrels somehow know where my bulbs are planted. Thanks 🙏🏽 Janey!

  9. Take the tree down! I think it’s too close to the roof. Not only because of dropping limbs, but it’s a fire hazard, too! Can’t wait to see your tulips! 🌷M

  10. Oklahoma red buds bloom in early Spring. You were able to plant a lot today, two hundred! 😊 What ever happened with the area across your house that you were trying to beautify? Maybe you can add the gladiolus to that area…just a thought 💭

  11. I envy your energy, haha! What's in your 'swoop' right now? Is that the Snow Princess Alyssum? Has it perennialized in your garden? I'm hoping to get some this coming spring.

  12. Janey, I’m a Garden Designer in the Atlanta area. Just wondering if you could slightly modify your plan for your driveway cut flower garden area, by creating a more symmetrical design with the Birdbath (or other feature) in the center. You could still have raised/terraced beds, but done in rectangular boxed fashion vs the linear ones you described. This may solve the 10’ board length issue you have with transporting them. It would also make this area of your garden more of a focal point during the Garden Tour coming up in the spring. I can elaborate more on what I see in my mind, if you need me to.

  13. It is so great to see you post often again! ❤️ your videos is honestly my little retreat! Thank you for your hard work and constant inspiration to get out and get working in my yard too. Happy New Year!!! 🥂

  14. Why not do building shelves in your garage instead of individual racks. It's one continuing system. Your loosing space between each unit now. Then use the hanging system from rafter. They work great and give you a tone more room.

  15. Hi, I'm in Texas zone 9a and I haven't planted all my bulbs yet. I was going to plant a lot today but its going to rain for the next 3 days. We have clay soil. Should I plant before or a couple of days after it rain?
