    Dear Karine thank you for your content. I don't know if you know the movie the messenger (alRisala) where Anthony quinn played the uncle of the prophet Mohammad(saw). I can tell you the middle east is totally proud that a big actor like Anthony quinn is playing in an Arabic production. Also in the marvellous Mrs Maibel Rachel Brosnahan is playing a Jewish role without being a Jewish herself or identifying as such.

    What I would like to see is if there are foreigners in the movie it should be played by someone who at least speaks the language. I had watched it tooo often that "Arabic looking" actors said some not understanble sounds to sound more Arabic!

    Ava’s role in “ The Barefoot Contessa” was supposedly based on Rita Hayworth, (after she wed Prince Ally Khan ). That’s another legendary female star I’d wish you’d do a breakdown on. Love your videos.

    I think it's a bit naive to not acknowledge the, collective, problematic history of Christianity and how it was spread around the globe in the first place. She had a right to her feelings. And, at the end of the day, it's acting.
    You, also have a right to your feelings, but it's hard to watch the video after being preached at.

    Personally i am muslim and worship the god of Abraham and Moses. I think for atheists who work in the production of primarily religious based movies is perhaps a bigger deal for those who follow the religion than the atheists themselves (as they don't believe in anything). Ava may have acted in the movies for a number of reasons: for good pay, perhaps she found the stories interesting even though she did not believe in them but i personally think the movie was to her just a another fictional story and thus she did not treat the project differently as to her it was the same as any other movie she acted in, she just needed a job.

    So yes, plenty of people have played religious people in movies without being of that faith. One example, Ben Kingsley played a Jewish man in Schindler's List, AND he was one of the main characters. Also, in the movie Showboat, Ava Gardner's character was half black, which obviously she was not black but they cast her anyway. I. The original movie West Side Story, very few of those actors were Puerto Rican. It happens all the time in Hollywood. Plenty of heterosexual actors have portrayed gay characters and vice versa. Im not saying any of it is right. Im just saying thats why its called ACTING. Its not real.

    The Catholic Church had a systemic mode of repressing and covering up the transgressions of its representatives….they've caused (and are still causing) more pain than most major dictators. Check the Mother & Baby homes and Magdalene Laundries in Ireland and elsewhere. They depended on slavery and the idea of 'fallen women' until the 1990s. There may have been a few 'good' individuals within the Church during that time but they were still complicit and aware of the evil going on behind closed doors. They are the exception, not the rule. They are still suppressing the names of the children who died in their care, and still refusing to provide the info about babies who were taken away from their mothers and sold. The Catholic Church is vile. Sounds like Ava's instinct was bang on the money.

    Many atheists are formed from some terrible incident that happened in their life. In Eva’s case, that man of God should have taken the time to visit her father. He gave his life to do God’s will on earth and failed.

    A lot of these starlets had very similar looks and that’s why it’s so hard to tell them apart. I came here straight from watching the Maria Felix video and it’s like they could be sisters. The more of these videos that I watch make me realize why Marilyn Monroe’s stardom and legend was so next level, because where all other starlets resembled each other, Marilyn Monroe had her own unique distinctive look.
