Let’s gooo!!!
That was very helpful. Thank you.
Do you keep them at the same size, year after year? Or do you add more canes as it matures?
I have a 13 year old plant that grows wild up and over an old maple tree. I cut it back somewhat from time to time, but I want to keep enough that it can keep trellissing up itself.
How much is too much tho, any idea?
Thanks for sharing. Looks like I have another add on to my Honey Dew List for next weekend.
meanwhile, I just want my grapes to survive one Colorado winter
Oh yeah, I love your hat!!
Excellent video and one that I needed. Maybe now I can clean up my very old Concord vine. It produces well but I think it could do better given the proper pruning.
Hey James are you giving away grape clippings this year? I’m interested in receiving some if you are thank you 🙂
Thank you this was great info!
Good to see you and Tuck ❤️ Glad Tuck is doing good !
Looking forward to spring planting 🌄🌻🌱🌳🐔
🥰Hi Tuck!❤
Thanks James, I needed this advice, cheers! Love to Tuck!
Superb tutorial! I learned a lot. Thank you James. Happy to see Tuck still enjoying his fresh veggies. He's the best boy!
Best information on pruning and setting up grapes , thank you
Supur useful! My grapes are heading into their second year with me and third year overall. I was wondering how best to prune and now I know!
Great information James. Last year, as a newbie grape grower, I started 3 different grapes on a cattle panel arbor. Was this a mistake? After watching this video I am not sure how I should go about pruning it properly. Any tips and pointers? I am in zone 7a also and will need to prune soon.
Good to see you…great imformation, easy to understand. I'm really happy hearing Tuck is doing well. I hope a very nice year to both
Thank you for your grapevine pruning video. This has been so confusing to me before now. The two pruning videos you’ve done are the best ones I’ve ever watched. You are fantastic! Thanks!
Great video. Im trying my hand at grape vines, one vine will be three yrs old this coming season so this content was a great help! Thank you. Also, so glad to hear Tuck is doing well. He's such a cutie. ❤
So glad to hear Tuck is doing better, thanks for sharing info on pruning grape vine.
I gotta watch this like 3 times. I can't blink because it's packed with so much information.
So glad Tuck is doing better. ❤️❤️❤️ He is always so much fun to watch him following you around the garden & looking for a snack. So glad you did this video. I will have to save it as I want to have grapes once I’m able to move to my own piece of land. I want to have red grapes, what variety do you grow? See ya on the next one. Have a blessed day 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️💕
Great info!
Can you do a video on pruning citrus trees?
So good to see you guys back!
This video was one of my favourites. 🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎🖤🤎🖤🤍 Thank you Tuck🖤
I planted two vines 4 years ago and they took off like crazy and have grown lots of grapes but I’ve never pruned. At this point I have 4 or more vines “heads?” coming out of the ground on each plant so lots of old growth since I’ve never pruned. I don’t know if I should wack it back big time or go gently. I feel like I don’t want to mess with what is so far working great. Suggestion on how far to prune back all the old growth?
I’m enjoying seeing your dry ground in zone 7. Zone 4 is under 3 feet of white fungus right now 😔
James you need to make a book!! You so knowledgeable, it would be amazing to have everything in one place. Just an idea!
Awesome thanks! We just bought a house where all the fences are covered with old growth grapes and I had no idea where to start! I'm going to carefully investigate, you probably saved us from just clearing it all off like the landscapers were suggesting! 😊👍 Our regards to Tuck, I'm glad he's feeling better!
Tuck is such a cute and affectionate furbaby! Prednisolone is sparing the liver, but prednisone needs to be converted by the liver to prednisolone, therefore making the liver working harder leading to hepatotoxity. Try to visit a different vet who would prescribe prednisolone. Thanks for the excellent advice on pruning.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just finished the video and I added it to my garden playlist. I will need to watch this annually to keep my vine growing correctly. It looks a hot mess right now. I wish u could see it 👀 . I'm going to grab some pruners and see what I can get accomplished. My Canes are probably 6 to 12 feet long right now 🤦🏾♀️ and the vines are fairly new.
What resources do you recommend for grape fruit diseases?
EXCELLENT!!!! how can you tell if your grapes are cane prune variety or the other kind. I use Red seedless in So Cal.
would this style of pruning work on hardy kiwi? thanks for the grape info 🙂
Good to see you, James. Good explanation…heading out to prune my grapes tomorrow.
Perfect timing!!! How did you know I was getting ready to prune my grapes? Give Tuck love from me!!
You mentioned slugs in a previous video .. they don't like marigolds. If you make a border of marigolds the usually won't cross past it. Cheap and easy and reseeds itself generously.
That grape arbor 😍 reminds me of my granddad. He’s gone now, but 2 years ago I successfully rooted a cutting from grapes he planted about 15 years ago. My dream would be to create an arbor like he used to have in his backyard, all the clusters of ripe grapes hanging low just waiting to be picked! 🍇
It’s a good idea to weigh how much you trimmed off each plant
Such a terrific video!!!! Thank you so much.
Glad Tuck is feeling alright, thanks for the in depth description of the grape pruning!
So glad to hear Tuck Tuck is doing well; my Yorkie had that same problem before, scary. Sure glad you are going over grapes because I've picked out a place to start vine this year. Do you have to put them on a fence?
You’re so hype for pruning grapes I love it 😂
Camera person does a fantastic job 👍🏻
Love your energy. Thanks for the info. Planning to prune my grapes this week.
This was such an informative video! Thank you, James & Tuck!
Love that hoodie bro! Just bought a concord grape this past summer, got it in a 5 gallon right now in hibernation. Love your videos! Long time watcher and student! Thanks! You inspire us and put a smile on these faces Just watching your joy of growing, keep on being you. Blessings to you and Tuck. Namaste family
