I’m off to Sophie’s to check out some test pots she made for my root over temple Ficus benjamina and to buy some other pots she has for sale!
I’m also heading out to the greenhouse at night to play with light.
Sophia’s pots are handmade in Cambridge Ontario Canada.
Custom orders are welcome!

Just out of curiosity, does your wife ever go on your trips/excursions? Then you can take her to lunch. Lol
I really enjoy videos where you vlog about your daily life, like this one or the ones when we got that big snow storm around Christmas time. Not that I don’t enjoy all your videos, but sometimes it’s nice when you switch it up! You’ve definitely inspired me a lot and I hope one day, I to have a green house filled with a bunch of amazing bonsai art pieces.
So many beautiful pots! Would love to go to a shop to pick and choose, not only buy online…. 💚💚💚
Now the tune from the movie is stuck on my head (with additional sounds from the x-files) 😀
Seeing the bright lights in your larch forest reminds me of the opening of E.T. With the spaceship lights, and flashlights of the government agents chasing E.T. Gives off kind of a creepy vibe, and it's awesome!
Nigel your visit to a bog site reminded me, how voting for saving bog landscape went?
I’ve got to start collecting some nice pots. Pot envy running high 😊
Everyone you know is amazing at their craft, you are all so artistic and creative. Thanks Nigel!
aaww i am jelly you can go and get them direclty from her!
Cup of tea and a nice morning video by the good Dr. Nigel.
Cool pots. I like that small rough rectangle pot. Hymn of the Weeds vase is a real unique idea. Thrift store finds are really neat.
👍👌🙂
With that light effect, I bet a black and white shot would also look cool. Like in the days of black and white tv and movies, how the shadows and the lighting of the features of the objects and people made cool scenes. An art lost.
I really enjoyed this one Nigel. Great seeing all Sophie's wonderful pots.
I laughed when a saw your truck. I've been scouring my local car boot sale for something just like that, but you beat me to it. Great find and I'll really look forward to seeing what tree you choose to grow on it.
I really like those cement-textured pots. Nice color and finish! Looking forward to the truck tree!
Enjoyed seeing your visit with Sophie. Does Sophie sell/ship her pots to the USA? I like the pots that you selected for your bonsai. You always make such incredible finds at the Thrift Store. Can't wait to see you realize your dream for the tree growing through the truck. What thought-provoking ideas for the use of lighting on bonsai. Somehow I can envision a display area in my yard in which lighting is used to enhance the look of my bonsai. Thanks for encouraging me to think about this.
Eeeee!!! 🫣. I loved the whistling reference to E.T. – I was thinking of that scene when you hit the trees with the bright flashlight!! But when your light started flashing on and off, I started yelling, “Run away, Nigel!!!”
The timing of that was so eerie and ominous! 😰 I felt sure a ghost or chainsaw murderer was about to show up! I’m glad you stayed safe!
I loved seeing Sophie’s work! Just gorgeous!!! The low unglazed pot with the modern cubes and grass decoration is amazing!!! I think that an oval one similar to that would be an incredible match for your serissa (my favorite of your trees)!
A lovely change of video Nigel – I don’t often comment but I watch daily. Thank you 😊 I loved watching the pots and a little more of where you live. I agree shows could do with better lighting too! Excellent video as always 💚
the twilight zone in the bonsai zone 😁✌
3:29 It's amazing how a very simple glaze can totally change the look of the pottery
I'd love to see an update on the martian soil project.
Man I love your videos u have really inspired me I have only been doing bonsai for almost 2 years now and have learned so much from you keep up your amazing videos
You picked up some cool pots, Sophie's been busy! Fun to experiment and play with clay
Such beautiful pots!
Larch forest in that lighting looked like an alien abduction scene
A eucalyptus would go quite nicely in that reddish "ozzy" pot
Hello Nigel! If I could today, I would walk all night in peace, until we meet in the morning for cofee and talk…but, things are not like that. I like to see your videos.
You talk about lighting. That is one thing I noticed at the KW show, with the windows. This year we had the drapes dividing the ailses, maybe we should find a way to raise them for part of the show, that way the light can change. Also our show was at a different time of year. We rely on the natural light for our show.
Awesome, I'm mucking around with concrete pots and the moment, really enjoying to see designs becoming reality.
Its cool having something different.
I love Sophie she is awesome and super nice, I got the chance to see her before I moved and picked up a bunch of her super duper small pots!! It’s going to suck being so fair away now lol
Beautiful pots! Amazing what a little light can do Eh! Awesome thrift store finds! Maybe I'll see if there are any in Dryden I can visit while I wait for my pup to have surgery.
Thanks for the bog stop! For me, the cycle of decay and renewal in that biome makes a powerful testament to the sheer force of life.
wow… they are beautiful pots!
