How much should I water my plants and how often is probably the most confusing issue for new gardeners and rightly so , this knowledge comes with keen observation , some unfortunate accidents , some years of experience and a desire to learn and understand this science of growing plants .
Plant size , pot size , type of pot – whether hard plastic , clay pot or fabric pot , type of potting mix and sun exposure , type of plant are some of the important factors that help us to decide how much to water and how often to water.
Using a 1 litre bottle and a 5 litre watering can helps us to know how much we are watering each pot or grow bag .
One can check the potting mix by putting in your finger – if it feels cool and moist ,watering is not needed . If your finger feels dry , one needs to water .
Watering should be slow and deep . Just watering on the surface without enough time for the water to seep in results in the potting mix or soil remaining dry . One should be able to see some water drain out of the drainage hole in some time . Care should be taken to water soil based potting mixes slowly so that the water seeps in well rather than just rush out of the sides of pot quickly .

If the size of the grow bag is very big, whether under the bag or pot watering will help for a tiny seedling like Amaranthus to suck water from bottom, my balcony is just like yours, facing west getting only 3 hours of sunlight

if the pot size or grow bag size is too big and seeds is sown directly in such big sized pots like sowing seeds of greens like spinach amaranthus or coriander will watering at bottom plate will help, whether the tiny seediling will be able to take suck water too much down below, pl guide what is correct way to water such tiny shoots till they become strong and big

Although, I err on the side of watering less it's hard to gauge with seedlings and the harsh desert Sun. Over watering is a common mistake and I am so glad you have made this video.
