The Seasons 2022 – Ch. 6 – August Visitors – New England Garden Tour

August was a difficult month for the garden, as the New England area was going through an extreme drought last year. The lack of water combined with the scorching heat left our garden stressed, with perennials that customarily grow to 6 feet tall only growing to 3 or 4 feet, and many not blooming at all. In spite of this, our plants still did their best and bravely held on, providing food for our pollinators and shelter for our feathered friends.

The contents of this film were captured in a residential American backyard garden originally established over 30 years ago on less than 6,000 square feet of land. This bucolic garden offers a luscious hermitage layered with tree canopies sheltering bountiful shrubs and perennials. Native and non-native, editable and non-edible plants are celebrated. An engaging respite for humans and animals alike.

Located in Hardiness (Planting) Zone 6B, experiencing four seasons of New England weather conditions.
