January farm vlog: Naughty sheep, shed organizing, and wool in soil blocks?!

Hi from the farm! Organizing always feels good after the New Year! We’ve really needed to do the exciting job of cleaning out our shed (welcome to flower farming, the “what’s in your shed?” edition!)! Unfortunately the naughty sheep boys beat us to it! Don’t worry, no naughty sheep were harmed in the making of the video, though I was when they stepped on my foot.

Speaking of sheep, we’ve been experimenting with using wool in the garden–wool not only has great abilities to retain water, it also has slow-release nitrogen, so we are giving wool pellets a test in our soil block recipe! Stay tuned for tests with another peat-free recipe. Stay tuned for results of the new soil blocking recipe–thanks for coming by the farm, we will see you soon!

  3. Thanks for another helpful video! Do you recommend a particular company for the wool pellets? I want to try them!

  4. πŸ˜‚ The sheep were hilarious!! πŸ‘ Yay you! Feels so good to be organized – mine needs it too!! So interesting on the wool!! Love watching you soil block – it helps to see it in action a lot as I wait for time to do mine for the first time this year. Like I’m practicing through watching you go about it!πŸ’šπŸ‘πŸΌ

  5. I am really enjoying your knowledge! Thank you for sharing. Your kids will always remember all the fun times you picked them up and"embarrassed" them. I used to give horse lessons and I would pick up my son from Jr high with a student on the horse. Or I'd drive the truck and trailer to pick him up. He remembers. Lol.

  6. As a spinner, knitter, and gardener, I loved this video! Do you think adding the wool pellets to the compost or garden beds would work as well as the blocks?
