  1. Building my first raised beds this year, and gathered enough wood for the green house too, so excited. Collected plenty of branches and Fall leaves and branches to fill the bottom with good earthy homemade compost. It can get pretty costly if you only add soil and compost. Very nice land and forest!! 🎄 🌿✨💕

  2. Great experiment, but I personally use all leaves. Leaves break down quicker and I believe they would attract the earthworms better than having alot of sticks on the bottom.

  3. … if you aren’t familiar with no dig/till gardening, you would enjoy and learn a lot from a couple of master gardeners Charles Dowding and Huw Richards … there is a wealth of information on their YouTube channels that cover all aspects of building raised garden beds and the materials that make for healthy “soil” for abundant crops …. EDIT : … I just realized from watching your video on building your raised metal bed that there is a bottom to your bed, which actually makes it a container … this will NOT create a proper hugelkultur ! … you need to start with a bottomless bed where the heavy material will break down properly … typically cardboard (which is then moistened) is the first layer on the bottom to eliminate weeds and grasses, which will break down within 3-6 months … then your branches … then the organic compost …
