  1. Oh I love the English Patient:)! It’s a wonderful book!

  2. What I do, is do something creative..everyday I create something…keeps me going all day..and then by
    Night time…I can be happy,and relax…until morning…works for me.
Always be insightful about yourself…self awareness

    .

  3. In order for me to feel I accomplished something I will go through my stuff and fill a bag to bring to donations. If I am not using it maybe somebody else could. I feel very down in the winter cause I love gardening too . Ordering or buying seeds is a good way to start thinking about spring.

  4. I and l think 98% of the people watching this video can relate . You have given us so many tips and ideas .
I would like to add one more tip~VOLUNTEERING!
Thank you so much for posting , this is the type of video that needs to be watched more than once and shared .
    Thank you 🥰

  5. I use my silver everyday. As it looks tarnished , I polish a few at a time as needed. Only takes 5mins but leaves me feeling accomplished. I also get up from my chair every ten minutes or so and do a little housework at a time. Change a load of laundry, wash a few dishes, polish a couple pieces of furniture. Keep moving!

  6. The English Patient is a favorite of mine too. What a beautiful section of the story to relate to all of us. If you're a fan of Ondaatje, I also highly recommend Running in the Family. It is exquisite.

  7. Some people, like me, LOVE WINTER. Even when I worked and had a commute in the snow, I loved it. My husband has self diagnosed with SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER. I sympathize, but can’t empathize. Even now, I embrace it…….lucky me. I do have a 12×12. I vacuum the mat I keep just inside my kitchen door that leads to the garage. It is designed to collect the dirt and stuff you drag in on your shoes and IT DOES. A quick sweep with my cordless vac does my heart good 👍🏻

  8. What a treasure trove of great advice, ideas and relatable moments! This was an inspiring video and much needed by me. Thank you for the tips that so many of us need to live fuller, more grateful lives. By the way, I also hate to pack so I am going to follow through with your suggestions. Thank you!

  9. Hey Linda-I was noticing the pieces of wood ( stumps ) behind you as you talked today-I thought surely they are from “the Tree” and immediately thought you should take a few with you and incorporate them into your new garden since the tree has special meaning——-cant wait to keep updates on ALL——

  10. Oh my goodness, Linda…. I absolutely love this video… This was so funny and an eye opener. I have thought about some of the same things and do some of the same things… You are good!!

  11. We live in the mountains of BC Canada, under 3 feet of snow. It is unseasonably warm here and although, I have started a few seeds on the 05th, it is still very stressful to have the weather feel like March in January. Yes I am a Fatigue sufferer, too. I have been planning a spa day.
Yes, the Nazi's took a symbol of loving peace to represent them, like it would give them credibility.

  12. This is a great video Linda. I have been suffering from depression for 2 1/2 years now after the death of my father under some pair very painful circumstances. Thank you so much for sharing these tips. I appreciate you so much.

  13. Oh Linda, when you were talking about hiding your tape measure I can so relate. I also hide my tape measure in the back of our junk drawer for the same reason!!!

  14. Nice to share ideas. Myself, I like winter and being cozy. Having a warm home to enjoy books, cooking soups and trying to organize some things.

  15. I agree that 12×12 cleaning is the way to go. MY friend moved to another state and is overwhelmed with the move and boxes. I told her……… I don't think , that I have to clean the garage…. I think I have to clean one shelf in the garage today. And we are retired , so whats the rush . One shelf a day and you have accomplished that 12×12. Over a week or two you will have touched every box or shelf. Plus, like you, I tend to keep going once I get out there with a cup of coffee and my music on. But, if one shelf is done at the end of the day , I have met my goal! Very satisfying.

  16. I used to iron for my grandma. I still enjoy ironing. The clothes look so crisp when I wear them.
My happiness booster is cooking something new, or repotting indoor plants.
Worrying is something I don't usually do. I know there is a lesson in all of it. And patience is something I have learned because there is always a better reason in store. A death is clearly a different thing.

  17. My mother is in her nineties she never complains and all her carers love working with her. She’s my inspiration. We always said my MIL enjoyed her Ill health!

  18. This video was so GOOD!!!!! So many beneficial tips and great advice. So many sweet stories. They were so enjoyable to listen to. You made me laugh so many times.
My Dad is definitely the king of grunts and groans…..the whole town hears him getting up or down off a couch. Hahaha!!!

  19. Linda thank you for sharing. Practicing self reflection and gratitude is a great strategy. I am 58 with three married girls starting their families. Another joy for me is when they ask me for advice on housekeeping, house building, relationships, medical, and parenting issues. I will say what I have learned and they know they can take it or leave it for their circumstance. Thank you for also “passing along “ what you have learned.

  20. I have a small rose bush by my trash cans, this space always looks sad, I'm going to try your advice & spruce it up, it would sure make me feel happy. I'll let you know. Thank you.
