Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland, Australia, about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online, so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  1. G'day Everyone, I hope you like the new trailer! I have placed a "ton" of hints "eggs" in this clip showing some of the things I'll be bringing you this year. I'm really excited to get into it again! Cheers 🙂

  2. Aw Mark ! Ya bloody larrikin! lol ,Good to see you ! Looking forward to seeing what you get up to this year and what I can use in my own small way !
    All the best Jules 👍

  3. I think your wonderful!! Love watching your posts, you always inspire me, teach me, remind me and make me smile!! Thank you so much😊

  4. No. No no no no no… No wonder you australians are fearless people. If I saw that skin near my house you bet I would not then follow that with sticking my hand without looking into some tomato shrub.

  5. Looking forward to your content this year. I just sat down to watch this video after harvesting a tub of spinach I managed to grow in my backyard in the Queensland summer heat. The spinach growth boomed in the last 3 days of cooler rainy weather, and I've got 1 cucumber ready on the vine. As I have heard on your channel it's worth it to be self sufficient at something even if I can't be totally self sufficient.

  6. hay mate fig beetles its a biblical plague of beetles how do you get rid of them… millions all over the fig and lemon tree

  7. Super trailer mate. Looking forward to seeing the chicken stuff having just got some hens myself.

  8. Doing the same, mate … 3 new big raised garden beds last year to replace the 8x50cm black plastic pots as I teach myself what grows when and how much. If you're living 'within sight' might i suggest infra-red movement actuated sensors and cameras and a .22 and 5.56 – Cleavers at Margate has both. Lets make a great year from the mess they've left us. 🤓🇦🇺

  9. You really outdid yourself on the puns in this one nice work 😂 I really hope more and more people get watching you and are inspired to grow food!
