  2. We dont have many random stalls in the streets as its not allowed. They operate in designated areas only. However due to covid, the city councils may permit more street stalls to help small business owners. Normally people who bothered u were probably not Malaysians because we never have the culture of hustling tourists. We have about millions of mainland chinese, indonesians n indians illegal immigrants doing all sort of fishy activities. The rohingyas from myanmar run begging scams in malaysia.

  3. Please donโ€™t get confused between local Malaysian and foreigner from Indonesia/Myammar/Bangladesh/Nepal/Vietnam/ India.. youโ€™ll notice the difference..somehow.. ๐Ÿ˜…

  4. Nice video, pleasant way of talking, as relaxed as the city itself. ๐Ÿ™‚ Bukit Bintang and KLCC is of course crowded and the traffic is horrendous, but it is worth visiting. In fact if you walk outside of the KLCC park, along Jalan Pinang, Kia Peng, Persiaran KLCC on a weekend morning, it is gorgeous. In between the high rise luxury condominiums and no traffic whatsoever, my favorite morning walk. My suggestion would be to visit the neighbourhoods, such as Bangsar (visit Telawi around Bangsar Village), Damansara Heights and Sri Hartamas and Mont Kiara, these are the more affluent neighbourhoods with tons of greenery, restaurants, bars, boutiques and it's way more relaxed than downtown. You get the Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis as a bonus for free (to watch, not to drive). Enjoy, I am going to follow your adventures here in Malaysia, since I am a Dutch expat in Kuala Lumpur myself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Oh dear, please be aware that certain immigrants esp illegal one are always on their way to scam tourist. What happened to you before is not usually the behaviour of Malaysian citizen. Currently we have cases of tourist being asked money by Bangladeshis or Nepalis or Rohingyas living in the city and many tourist think they are Malaysian. So be careful and alert with your surrounding.

  6. Do you know the exact location where this fishy man ask for your phone? Maybe if you can share this information, we can pass the information to police and Kuala Lumpur City Council forfurther action.

  7. Yes, Ferrari & Lamborginis…but still speed at 20km/hr ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  8. Another great video, thanks, enjoy your stay there.

  9. I grew up in KL and went to school around the Chinatown/KL Tower area and even then I was always cautious of my surroundings. Especially the Petaling St area. I'm not surprised if that guy was trying to steal from you. It was a scary area to be in for a school girl walking alone to get the bus. KL in general is safe but crimes do happen. anyhow, at the foot of the KL Tower there is a small reserve forest you can visit.

  10. Walking around is great. You get to see places up close and personal. But trains/subways will take you almost everywhere and it is cheap. It is alternative way to get back to wherever you stay when you feel tired. I think the hop on buses are free. The guy who approached you is definitely a scammer. There are minimal touts in the city so if anyone approaches, they are almost certainly a scammer and usually illegals. But, when needing help, ask anyone. Most will help.

  11. Hi, Iโ€™m an American looking for a permanent home. I was in Chiang Mai, Thailand for 2 months and I been here in Malaysia for 5 weeks. I spent a month in Georgetown, Penang and now Iโ€™m in KL for a month. Iโ€™m staying in Bukit Bintang, which is walkable to KLCC and KL Tower.

I like Malaysia better than Thailand because the infrastructure is much better. Thailand is still very much a cash society and few people other than vendors speak English.

  12. There are many options, if don't like the city, there are national parks (tropical forrest), coastal areas, islands, and then there is East Malaysia. These two cities, Malaca and Penang are UNESCO city there is a lots of colonial history.

  13. Bangkok is better Kuala Lumpur for sure such as safety, cleanliness, size of the city, internet speed and public transportation etc. but Bangkok has higher cost of living than in Kuala Lumpur cause of gas prices effects inflation rates and this is the weak point of Bangkok compared to Kuala Lumpur.

  14. Most probably NOT Malaysian as we won't approach foreign unless the foreigners approach us for help. In the case of taking Selfie, it would be the foreigners approaching the locals to take picture for them.
Honestly China Town is no longer Chinese Town but foreigners operating the stalls. Even we local Chinese people avoid that area as it is foreigners manning the premises. The locals will go to their neighbourhood PASAR Malam( Night Street Vendors) that are local own people setting up the street shop. The Pasar Malam are held every week in the neighbourhood garden.

  15. Not all Chinese in Malaysia are Malaysian Chinese…the same for Indians, just so you know… there are Mainland Chinese, Taiwanese Chinese, Hongkong Chinese, same race but culturally we are different not much but there are different. You'll get to know the difference once you stay long in Malaysia.
