I love this model family. If I could, it would 100% be the Grand Seiko I would get. The best size and thickness, and no date. Just simplicity done best with interesting dials.

I tried on the SBGW281G a while ago and fell in love straight away, it's a gem!
At first glance, the burgundy was for sure my favorite. However, when you started changing straps, my opinion changed. Beautiful color but lacks in versatility. The first one (SBGW281) seems like a much better choice.

I believe the GS Elegance collection watches are gorgeous . But "Elegance" goes with "Thinness". And still with 11.7 mm, these watches are far too chunky. Why not an Omega Aqua Terra instead, as chunky but with all that goes with it : discreet Lum, 150 m water resistant, a date and better price/quality. GS has work to do to be as elegant as a Calatrava !
