  1. Hello! It feels so good to finally be able to share Japan and why we love it so much with family. Roy’s parents loved Japan’s countryside! What about you guys – do you like countryside travel or are you more into the city?

  2. Cool parents!! Your videos on campervanning have definitely inspired me, was wondering if you could provide some info on gas costs with the van? Thanks in advance!

  3. Hello! I enjoyed watching your video! Japan's countryside is must visit! Don't worry. Foreign tourists can drive a rental car as long as you have an international driver's licence. There are Macdonald's hamburger shops along inter-prefecture national roads, and you use a credit card there. You should go to Hidatakayama, which is an old town near Shirakawago.

  4. it was a lot tougher ten years back, but the Japanese government suddenly decided to get into 'internationalization' to bring more tourists and boom all of the street signs, labels, menus etc became bilingual. There was a time when you'd get menus with no pics and all Japanese and you had to either read Japanese well, ask the waitress about an article, or just point n pray – it was a nightmare.
Travel in those days was also stressful if you couldn't read kanji. Much easier now and more accessible for tourists, as intended..

  5. You guys start inspiring me to maybe rent a camper van in Japan for exploring the countryside. A fun and laidback video, loved it! Keep up the good work, you guys deserve more views!

  6. Great video! Interesting to see a bit of Roy’s parents experiences – and some gorgeous autumn scenery.
    Thank you for sharing.

  7. My favorite part was when Roy's mother talked about the connection made between her and the women at the onsen. That experience was based on human connection and not on language. The anecdote captures something of the essence of Japanese people and of being human.

  8. It was great to see traveling from Roy's parents perspective, and glad you took a bit more time with this topic, Aimee!

  9. Absolutely loved his video with Roy s parents and they are inspiring! Finally me and my son are going to Japan today to spend 15 days with my dad who lives in Iwata, Shizuoka. By the way, your cards are so clever, I will make them to my 11 year old son because he speaks zero Japanese +English, only Portuguese, haha
