  1. Hi Tony I use citronella oil. Its cheaper than peppermint and rats really really hate the smell
Put a few of the drops in my Polly tunnel and they are gone.

  2. Great update Tony.👍

Nice looking growing area you have in the house there. I've no idea how the wife lets you get away with that though😁

  3. Every year at my allotment i see the same people try and plant early all thier seedlings & plants only too see them all die because of frosts.

  4. Nice Videos. Great propagation place, but aren't you supposed to take the seedlings off the heatmat, because otherwise they get leggy? Have lots of fun…

  5. Everyone is champing at bit to get going now….been to long 😆 lve started my Onions about three weeks ago and seem do be doing ok on the table by the windowsill, let's hope they come through and do me proud….new ones called Walla Walla from Sutton Seeds.A friend in Australia said there so sweet you can eat them like an apple and no tears,so fingers crossed. All the very best 🌱🌱🌱💞

  6. FYI…rethink using any carpet in the garden Tony. Full of toxins, unknown glue and plastic fibers…just saying. U have worked so hard keeping it on the organic side.

  7. I use the same underlayment to line my grow light box Tony, in fact I also put it behind my plants in the window to reflect the light back, Had to just pause you there a few minutes while I popped over to the live with Mark..

  8. Hi Tony I have tried a few things on my land and the 1st is I find ground control hides slugs and they eat the strawberries.
As for rats well the ultimate weapon you would never believe is water. I know it’s hard for you to have alit of running water but as jones would say on dad’s army they don’t like it up em.
I did buy a rat trap from USA it’s brilliant called uhlik repeater
    Good gardening
    Mandy

  9. Noticed all the ' Spaghetti ' seedlings. Come the summer you'll be picking the spaghetti off all those spaghetti trees…LMAO

  10. I'm wondering if the fact that bed is higher is why it didn't fair as well as the lower bed? More heat generated from that freeze thaw off the ground. There is fancy shmancy science lingo involved 😉 that I can't begin to remember but it was explained by the weatherman here in 🇨🇦.

  11. Love seeing what your up to in the Garden Tony lad got me name down for my own allotment as well as my greenhouse and raised beds at home 👍

  12. I find the black polythene that farmers use for round bails perfect for strawberry beds as you can lay it air tight to stop slugs but it heats the soil, its also great for covering empty beds as you can put manure underneath it over winter to compost the manure.

  13. I’m considering buying a couple of heat mats. Are the ones you use any good Tony.? Do you have a link.?

  14. Your peppers are looking like they're beefing up nicely already Tony! That's a lot of plants too 😅Those micros look great, get eating them now!

  15. Tony is there any chance Dave's allotment on your show on the potty mouth of garden Club pictures of Sunderland vs Newcastle

  16. We're all just wingin it Tony. Try ty try again. Every year we have a challenge. Rhubarb is my nemesis

  17. Lovely when the sun is going up or down! We have such an issue with rats down the allotment I love the holes with Neam oil pellets and that helps stop them. Rats are just a pain!

  18. Hi Tony, I’ll be interested when you put your greenhouse up. I bought one last year not up yet. Was thinking maybe March time to start foundations. If you could do some videos on yours putting foundation down and fixing to foundation that would be great 👍🏻 thanks 😊

  19. Hi celeriac does most of its growing in the summer months after planting and how well they grow depends on how much water they get and this goes for swede too and they stop growing autumn / early winter so they won’t pick up now they will eventually rot or go to seed. So it’s compost feed now tony. So it’s important to tend to them during the summer. You have grown and kept your plot brilliantly 👍🙋🏻

  20. I have always believed only woolcarpet with no backing should be used on plot as it will disintegrate and chemicals will get into the ground eventually. So think about it I would advise.
